Old building that smells

Posted Jul 28, 2015
There are 2 hotel buildings 1 that's new and 1 that's old. Previously I stayed in the new hotel and it waa nice. However the last visit ,we stayed at the old annexed hotel and it smelled of urine and was old and tired looking. When mentioned to the staff, they were not the friendliest especially the manager Kat. We were told our stay came with breakfast but it did not. It was an additional $15.

Bad shower heads... low flow. Haven't you seen Seinfeld? Nobody likes low flow showers...

Great stay

Great place to stay downtown. Very close to power & light district. Be sure and check out the old part of the hotel that's attached to the new one. Built in 1915.

Get the new building

Posted Jun 29, 2015
Nice people. Good food. There is an older building which is where we were put. The interior is a bit dreary and our room overlooked the back side of another building. The newer building looked much nicer. Did not know there was a choice.

Accommodations nice, but bad experience at checkin

Posted Jun 22, 2015
Pros: The hotel accommodations were very clean and nice.
Cons: Customer service when a mistake is made by the hotel staff.
Location: Power & Light Entertainment District, movies, wineries, shopping, events.
I booked two rooms (requested connecting) for my daughter's bachelorette party (7 people). I checked in early at 2:15 pm and was given two connecting rooms (1710-1711), but the front desk clerk said that 1711 wasn't cleaned yet and I could come down later and pick up the keys for that room. That was fine since we only needed one room to decorate to have a little lingerie party before heading out to a winery. When we left for the winery, room 1711 still was not cleaned and they told me to just pickup the keys when we returned. Well, 3 hours later, I stopped by the front desk and long story short, was told that 1711 had been given to another guest and they did not have any more connecting rooms available. Needless to say this was very irritating since the whole point of our bachelorette party was to have everyone able to be in two rooms and come and go from each without hassle. The front desk told me they could get me two connecting rooms in the Muehlebach Tower, so begrudgingly we gathered all our bags, decorations, etc. and moved over to a whole other building. When we walked in the first room, it was fine, but the second room only had one king bed and obviously that did not fit our party size. Once again, I walked all the way back to the front desk and asked for a manager and eventually we were moved (again) back to the first tower and given two rooms next to each other, but not connecting. Finally, after 9:00 pm we were able to go to dinner and start our evening.

Perfect Location & Wonderful Experience

Posted Jun 1, 2015
Pros: Location, friendly staff and comfort!
Cons: The beds are so tiny!
Location: Minutes away from Power & Light and a short drive away from prime shopping!
Came to KC for a Bachelorette party and this hotel was the perfect spot! It's right in the heart of downtown and close to everything that we wanted to do. The staff was incredibly accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend the valet parking. It's worth every penny at $24 per day. Regular parking was $18, so not a lot of difference. The staff provided us with coupons to Power & Light as well! Our rooms were nice, clean and comfortable. My one and only complaint is that the beds are tiny, but they were still comfortable. The hotel is attractive inside and out! The bartender was not the friendliest, but we were able to look past that and still have a good time when waiting to go out!

Cons: HOT WATER
Location: KC downtown. Tons do do within walking distance. Loved the proximity and athletic fields were not too far away.
Overall it was very nice. My only disappointment was we had no hot water. I could live with it, but my girlfriend couldn't. Excellent staff services!!!!!!
