Great location for KC Convention Center!

Posted Feb 23, 2015
Pros: Location was perfect for our convention.
Cons: At this price point, wi-fi should be standard, not an additional cost.
The room was clean and comfy. I was disappointed that wi-fi was an additional charge. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Everything was great!

Posted Feb 14, 2015
Pros: Everything. I especially enjoyed the convenience of the exercise room, pool, restaurants, etc.
Cons: I cannot think of anything.
Location: Our church headquarters is in Kansas City, so we enjoyed visiting there as well as seeing many sights around town one day.
We attended a conference at the Marriott. It was so convenient; the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. We were there for eight nights! The food was delicious. There isn't anything that wasn't really good about this experience.

Great hotel, will return

Posted Feb 13, 2015
Pros: Staff, Cleanliness, Location, Parking
Cons: Nothing
Location: Downtown, Easy access to Kansas City Convention Center
We stayed at this hotel over the last weekend in January. We picked it due to reviews on here and its proximity to Bartle Hall Convention Center. There is an underground tunnel that connects this hotel to the convention center which was great due to the winter storm while we were there. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean, including the room. Beds were comfortable. The elevators were recently upgraded to an electronic push button system that took a minute to get used to, but actually was great because we never waited for an elevator or had to stop at multiple floors (goes straight to your floor when selected). The pool was very nice and clean and was not crowded at all. The views are great as the pool is located indoors on the roof. We will definitely stay here whenever we are in the Kansas City area.

Friendly staff, decent room. Walking distance to power and light. Awesome bar tenders. Cool bathrooms. Nice view from room. A little pricey but I'd still recommend staying here. Parking was convenient and easy to use. Not much in the way of public transportation. Didn't take advantage of asking to locals about night life away from power and light which would have been useful. Bar closed at midnight which wasn't ideal. Good location downtown, close to bars and restraunts, not a far drive from arrowhead and royals stadium. Walking distance from the sprint center and the art center.

Thank you for your review. We are very pleased that you enjoyed your visit with us at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown. A couple of other areas for night life is The Plaza and the Westport area. They are three to four miles south of our hotel and a short cab ride. Those areas have great restaurants and bars as well. On your next trip to Kansas City we can assist you with directions and public transportation. Thank you again for your feedback.

A nice hotel with friendly staff-- but drafty

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Clean, good food
Cons: my room had a drafty window
I traveled to Kansas City on a business trip and stayed at the Kansas City Marriott Downtown for two days. I thought that it represented a good value and seemed to have been recently renovated. To me there are a couple of factors that sway me from being a pleasant experience to a not so pleasant experience. One of them is the comfort of the bed, another is the bathroom quality and the third one is smell. The KC Marriott Downtown was recently renovated and the beds and condition of the sheets, comforters and pillows was very good. The shower and bathroom in my room was very nicely finished and the shower had plenty of hot water and good water pressure. The bar and eating facility was well-stocked and the food quality was pretty solid. The only nitpicking criticism I have for the hotel is pretty minor. I traveled to Kansas City leaving the warmth of Phoenix to come to Missouri during a pretty cold snap. The hotel itself was warm and well-lit but there was a nasty draft in my room coming from a pivoting ventilation window (room 513 to be specific)at the bottom of the view window. It would get windy at night and the draft was bad enough that even keeping the room at an indicated 80 degrees couldn't knock the chill off while I slept. Overall I will certainly return but I might have to request some additional blankets and perhaps check the room to see if all of the rooms have the same issue.

Great greeting

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: Facilities
Cons: Room service menu
Location: Dinning, Union Station, WWI museum and luxury shopping
We arrived 9.30pm to the hotel, tired from the trip and the hotel front desk staff was really nice and gave us all the information needed to get food and the areas around the hotel. The next day we came to concierge and they have us great options to visit withing walking distance and recommend this great place to have breakfast / lunch, consider the best burguers in Kansas, awesome place and experience. We also got all good information in regards of shopping and cab rates. Room service was on time, something we really appreciate. Great hotel option!

Clean room, comfortable bed but....

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros: Clean, quite, comfortable room. Excellent breakfast!!
Cons: Hotel stuff knowledge of hotel!
I reserved a room in Sept. for a Nov. date. I asked for a room with a "great view". we checked in early and again I asked for room with view and when we got to the room...no view! Very disappointed because we picked this hotel BECAUSE it offered "Great views of KC". Also, they told us to park in first garage when really we were in the second building with a connecting garage! So much easier! I think hotel staff need to learn more about the hotel and accommadate guests better!

Thank you for taking the time to post the review of your recent stay. Your feedback is very important to us so that we can continue to improve our guest's experiences. I am sorry that the room you had did not have a good view, the majority of our rooms do have a great view of the city. I also apologize for the confusion in the parking situation, although the parking garage you speak of can be accessed from our Muehlebach Tower it is not the Hotel's property and is actually the parking garage for the Convention Center Complex. I am glad to hear that you enjoyed your breakfast and that your room was clean, quite and comfortable for you. I hope that you will stay with us again sometime and give us a second chance to show you how excellent our hotel can be.
