“Not a good stay”

I requested and was confirmed reservations for a room with two queen bed for two nights. They had a large group coming in the second night so they put my people in a room with one king . They refused to correct the problem.

“Sufficient, but not overwhelming”

This Marriott was a hit-and-miss for me. There were some staff who were very attentive and kindly, while others were almost dismissive. There were none of the common amenities, such as continental breakfast, beverages, newspapers, or even a final bill slipped under the door. The Business Center was all on a fee basis, and the in-room internet was not great. The room was very comfortable and clean, and had enough space for one or two. One elevator fell into disrepair during my visit, and my showerhead could not be adjusted, but all other repairs seemed good. Oddly, there were no ice buckets or even liners with which a guest might tote ice in the guest rooms.

“Comfort but at a price”

My recent stay at Marriott was with mixed blessings. The beds are the most comfortable at any motel I have ever stayed at! If this was a business trip it would have been prime but for recreation the hotel was way south of where the common tourist attractions are. The pool at this motel is very small and my wife and I did not get to enjoy them due to overcrowding at the pool during our stay. The only problem we ran into was with whomever was maning the desk. I called for towels which were not replaced during room cleaning. Four hours later when I returned they still were not in the room. I called down to the front desk at 2am to see what was going on and no one would answer. Luckly my nosey butt found the laundry room and I helped myself to all the towels I could grab. Management is working on making it right going on two weeks since my stay. We will see what they can muster up.

Area recommendations

Metcaff is a main road that offers several businesses just south of this motel. Go over to the next main drag east less than a 1/4 mile away and head a little south and a new Plaza that is going up will surely keep the shopping person busy for some time! Overland Park is smoke free so if that appeals to you might check out local businesses before heading to other towns in the KC Metro Area.

Getting around

This motel is located just off Metcalf and I-435 Hwy which makes getting access to any of the highways in KC very simple and quick.

“Double thier money”

They put a hold on my card for the cost of the room plus incedentals which came to about $150 that I could not access. They tried 3 times in 3 days and finally got it right after several phone calls. Will not go back.

“Very nice in Overland Park”

Wow, what a nice place! Beautiful hotel, wish I had more time to spend there, will be back for sure. Very professional front desk staff, very personable, good start to an excellent stay. Lobby bar & restaurant was family friendly, great service. The indoor pool & jacuzzi were an extra pleasure that made it our choice. The location was close enough to downtown Kansas City and the rate made it so much more reasonable than the choices downtown. When they drop the fee for internet use it will be perfect, for the price of the room, to pay extra for the internet seemed petty, but a very nice room with a desk for getting work done. The room could also use a microwave, but otherwise, most excellent.

Area recommendations

Overland Park was nice 30 yrs. ago & its still nice today. Downtown Kansas City on the Kansas side seemed nice also, peaceful, clean.
