A Hidden Treasure of LuxuryPosted Oct 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
This charming bed and breakfast provided the foundation for a perfect Kansas City overnight within walking distance to the PLAZA. The accommodations were so luxurious, along with a breakfast that exceeded any five star restaurant! The owners couldn't be more gracious. It was like staying at a dear friends' home for the night. Simply spectacular!

So Charming!Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: The atmosphere. Great breakfast. The warm cookies.
Cons: It would be great to get a tour of the home. I would love to know about the history behind the Southmoreland. Better photos of the rooms.
Location: The Plaza was within easy walking distance. The JC Nichols fountain and the St. Lukes hiking trail were so close that we enjoyed a nice morning walk.
My husband and I spent several days in Kansas City. We stayed at three different locations. This was our first destination. It is a beautiful facility in a great location if you want to walk around the Plaza or visit the Nelson Atkins. I am from Kansas City and found the book left on our bed that detailed some of the famous citizens from the past was fascinating. I think very few individuals that are from Kansas City know that there actually were people named Winstead. The room was very quiet and relaxing. We loved the porch off of our room. Fortunately we didn't have neighbors. There were three porches sided by side. We were able to enjoy the area by ourselves. Don't expect a big room, but a cozy place with lovely touches. The fresh cut roses from the garden were lovely. The staff was pleasant and the breakfast was very good. Different than what you would get at a regular hotel.

Great Romantic GetawayPosted Aug 13, 2014 on Hotels.com
Me and my wife came here for our one year anniversary and it was amazing. When you get there they serve drinks and hors d'oeuvres, more drinks in your room, then cookies and hot tea at night, and top it off a great breakfast in the morning. The hotel staff were great and gave us some local restaurants to try out. We stayed in the William Gilliss room. It was a fun little room with a balcony. The only downfall to the room was its size, it barely had room for the bed and our things. I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a romantic getaway.

Excellent b&b I would rate it a 10 if I couldPosted Jul 16, 2014
Owners very friendly way more than we expected. Beautiful town to walk through. It's like shopping the mall but all your favorite stores are outside. There's even a Cheesecake Factory!

Awesome bed and breakfastPosted Jun 28, 2014 on Hotels.com
Mark and Nancy were so hospitable. Clean, cute, comfortable. The place has the old colonial feel all around. The breakfast was amazing - vegetable fritatas are the way to go.
