Good location, but not worth the price

Posted Jul 28, 2015
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff and good location right by city center.
Cons: Rooms were average and beds not very comfortable. I also think that when you pay what we did, there should be no other fees.
Location: Great location by city center. World War I memorial and museum was right across the street and was really good. Also beautiful Union Station close.
Hotel was clean and in a good location, but per night cost seemed to high for what we got. Staff was friendly and service was good, just thought it was way over-priced. Rooms did not have free wi-fi, and we also had to pay to rent tennis rackets and for parking on week days.

The room was nice and the staff was pleasant, but there was some room for improvement. My friend was asked to upgrade to Preferred status at check-in, which got a ton with a better view, complimentary waters, and free WiFi. I was not given the same option even though we booked the exact same traditional room. My view was a rooftop, my waters were a dollar, and my internet was $9.95 a day. I would have liked that option as well. The only other downside was leaving the parking garage at 11AM on a Sunday. And I do understand this is prone check out time, but one lane was closed and the servants had to verify each guest's parking with a pre-printed list of rooms. It took us 15 minutes to leave the garage. With that said, my room was very clean and nice. The staff was courteous, just not outgoing and friendly. This seemed to be a nice place to stay for a weekend when we were going to be out a lot, but it didn't feel like a hotel where I would want to spend a whole vacation. They didn't do a single thing wrong, it just seemed like they didn't go above and beyond.

Close to activities for kids

Location of hotel was great, however, the hotel itself isn't as nice as I thought it would be. The room felt muggy and damp. The staff was slow to respond to service requests.

Pros: Location
Cons: Service
Location: Legoland, Sealife, shopping
Over an hour wait to get into room. Very disappointed in the staff. Lots of people standing around, seemed to want to pass the work on to someone else.

Double check the room you order and no balconies

Posted Jul 14, 2015
The only complaints are that I booked for a king bed and got two doubles. We were so hot when we checked in that we immediately showered and didn't feel it was appropriate to ask for a change after using the bathroom. Also they advertise balconies in every room but the doors don't open (obviously for safety) but then don't advertise balconies you do not have access too! Other than that, rooms, beds were comfortable. Staff was pleasant and professional.

Not a pleasant trip.

Posted Jul 13, 2015
Pros: It was close to lots of shops and restaurants.
Cons: Reservation organization.
Location: An excellent downtown location.
My girlfriend and I attempted to check in at 4:00 pm only to be told that our room wasn't available yet. The front desk staff said that they would give us a call when our room was available. We hung around the lobby and nearby shops and restaurants for an hour or so hoping for a call, but we didn't receive one. We had plans to attend a concert, so we had to leave. When the concert ended at 11:30 pm we still hadn't received a call from the hotel staff, so we called and were told that "we may have a room for you". When we returned to the hotel about midnight we were given a room, but it was with two beds even though our reservation was for one king bed. By that time we were just happy to have a place to stay. The hotel staff wasn't able or willing to give us some sort of discount for all of our troubles because we had booked the room on Expedia. The following morning we contacted Expedia, explained everything that had happened, and were compensated accordingly. I hope this was an isolated incident with the hotel, but I don't think I'll be going back.

Nice hotel, but no balcony access

Posted Jul 9, 2015
Pros: Bed very comfortable. 'Starbucks' coffee in the room-awesome and a nice surprise. Location was awesome-many things to do within walking distance.
Cons: Wifi and parking should be free with price of room. Rms need more premier channels. Advertised with balconies, but balcony very small & inaccessible.
Location: Location is excellent. Many things to do within walking distance and the city has a lot to offer.
The bed was very comfortable...slept well. The room was very clean. The amenities were just ok for you have to pay extra for Wifi and self parking which I feel should be included in the price of the room. Also there were not enough premier television channels. Otherwise, it was a nice stay.
