Comfy and clean but not sure about sailing theme!Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
Location of this hotel is fine, just 5 minutes walk from Central Park which is great for a beer and some of the smarter shops in the city. Clean rooms with big comfy beds. Was slightly surprised to find out R&R stands for Rose and Romance and the smell of Roses as you walk in is a bit odd but don't let that put you off.

Value for moneyPosted Nov 8, 2012 on Hotels.com
Good value for money. Near the busiest department store and shopping area. Sound proof and helpful staff. Nice bed and pillows... Two little downsides: 1. Mosquitos 2. The rose oil and shower gel.. Not everyone is a rose fan so I hope they will provide an alternative in the future.

R&R hotel in TaiwanPosted Jul 18, 2012
Cons: dusty window trims, felt kind of haunted..
Location: walking distance to transit, and close to Kaohsiung harbor
dust along window trims complimentary breakfast was good. if you stay there for more than one night, your additional breakfasts will be different. the concierge were friendly and useful in giving me touring information.

Nice hotel, English breakfastPosted Apr 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
This hotel provides a nice alternative to more expensive ones in downtown Kaohsiung. The room was clean and with adequate furniture, with a maritime decor. The only quirky thing was the windows were coated with a reflective glaze that blocked any view of the outside. Not that there is much to see outside in the area but it is a strange feeling. On the plus side, the room was extremely quiet, despite facing the main road. Breakfast was a semi-traditional English breakfast: toast with jam, followed by a omelet with sausage and bacon. I'd rather have chinese food when I am in Asia, but this is a matter of personal taste. The staff was friendly. Great value for the money.

Decent R & R in KaohsiungPosted Nov 15, 2011
Location: Anywhere near the Love River of close to the downtown KMRT stops.
My friend and I booked at the R & R only when we discovered our usual budget hotels in Kaohsiung were booked out (there was a big food show and a gala concert on that weekend). We were pleasantly surprised by the good service and general comfort of the hotel. Our room was large, with high ceilings and a spacious bathroom. The water pressure was good and the the water hot. The breakfast was not a buffet, the staff brought various food items to our table and worked hard to accommodate our being vegetarians. One drawback is that the hotel was a good 15-20 minutes' walk to Central Park KMRT Station. The R & R's decor is very eccentric: they couldn't seem to decide between nautical and floral, but somehow it grew on us. In general I thought it offered value for money.
