Western Luxury

Posted Nov 30, 2014
Pros: Beautiful grounds, comfortable accommodations, friendly helpful staff, good food, convenient location.
Cons: Nothing.
I stayed here one night after an arduous business trip to a remote part of Nepal. This is a top-notch Western-style hotel for a reasonable price, and was just what I needed for rest and rejuvenation. This wouldn't be the place to stay if you want to get close to the "real world" in Kathmandu. It's more like living in a palace, separated from the city by walls and extensive grounds. But if that's what you're looking for, Hyatt does it well. And it's easy to get into the bustle of the city by stepping outside the walls.

Great getaway in Katmandhu

Posted Jul 31, 2014 on Hotels.com
After enjoying the exotic city, if you are looking for a nice and relaxing place to spend your night, this is the place. This hotel is a mix of Katmandhu architecture with European service. You'll be surprised how ambient the place is. Nice view, beautiful pool and warm service. It's a perfect place to bring your family or for a couple.

Fantastic friendly service

Posted Jul 26, 2014 on Hotels.com
It was a sanctuary of relative calm in a busy, dusty, noisy 3rd world city. A well planned finale to a trekking holiday in the foothills of the Himalaya's. The hotel service was excellent and the staff at all times were attentive and anticipated my needs at almost every juncture. The bar fridge didn't work properly, even after I'd reported it and had a repair man attend...it's a little thing and probably the only issue I had. I'd like to suggest that the beauty spa sell's a few swim suits. I tried to buy one in Kathmandu so that I could enjoy the beautiful pool and could only find either teeny, teeny bikini's or big loud Russian grandma bathing costumes. I'd completely forgotten to pack for resort wear as I'd had 6 days to prepare for this trip...late minute decision to join my traveling companion. I would stay at this hotel again in a heartbeat, there is nothing to compare with it anywhere in Kathmandu and if you are trekking and roughing it for most of your trip...it is like a salve to your body and your soul to rest up at the Hyatt Regency Kathmandu.

The hotel is near to the airport. On arrival, we got a nice welcome drink and courtesy to the hotel for giving us an upgrade to the stupa view room. The stay at the hotel was overall comfortable. However, internet connectivity was chargeable.
