hmmmm...There's something "not so 5 star" in this

Posted Mar 5, 2014 on Hotels.com
The Hotel is glorious and the setting magnificent. Next to Buddha, one of the most exotic parts of Kathmandu...a small Nepalese island in the middle of urban Nepal. But there's a sense of something missing...The rooms are classy and comfy and huge and high ceiling and all but characterless...they lack these small tiny details to make them unforgettable... The bed sheets are just clean and nice but from a 5 star property you expect this sense of pampering not just cleanliness and comfort.Same for the breakfast buffet...Boring...Boring...Boring...

Price was relatively high but worth of it in Kathmandu especially when you face with electricity problem frequently.

Not walkable path to near by sightseeing area.

Posted Jan 20, 2014 on Hotels.com
The country and people was very nice, though it is close to near by sightseeing places it was not walkable because it is mostly surrounded by dirt road. The hotel has nice ambiance and grounds, but what I find annoying and ridiculous that a 5-star hotel does not have complimentary internet access through out the hotel. The Sauna and bathroom shower is a little dirty could use some updating, outdoor pool should be heated especially when you are traveling there in the cooler months.

Dear Guest, Thank you for your feedback. Indeed the road expansion in the city are further contributing to the pollution in the city. However we are hopeful that when it is completed we will have a much approved road network to look forward to. Furthermore, I have noted your thoughts on the internet facilities within the hotel. I trust in future we will be able to make amendments to the current third party service provider. However, kindly note we do offer complimentary internet facilities for our Regency Club and Suite guests. I hope we will be able to welcome you again in the not too distant future to our hotel and once again thank you for your time you have taken to let us know. A beautiful garden hotel in the busy Kathmandu

Posted Nov 20, 2013
Pros: Garden, pool area
Cons: Free wi-fi in the rooms
It is very nice to have a hide away from all the noises and hectic atmosphere of Kathmandu. Hyatt gives you this opportunity. It was done very nicely from the beginning, therefore being a little dated now doesn't really effect the impression.

Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your positive comments about the facilities at the hotel and how it is definitely a “hide away” from the hustle and bustle of Kathmandu. As you have pointed out, the hotel nestled on 37 acres of landscaped gardens and overlooking Boudhanath Stupa, a UNESCO World Heritage site does create a tranquil environment for our guests to enjoy. We are happy to know that your stay with us was a pleasant one and do hope we can have the opportunity to welcoming you back to our calming environment in the future. Restful stay with good spa facilities and buffet breakfast. Unfortunately, Wi-fi service not consistent and extra. Regency Club perks are excellent!
