The place was clean and tidy. I booked 2 rooms about 3 months back and we were allocated on the ground and second floor, I asked if we could have adjacent rooms and was told that all the other rooms were booked inspite of the vacancy sign being displayed. The games room was leaking due to the rain.

Great value for money
Second visit to Metropole. The staff are lovely and the hotel is great value for money. I highly recommend the breakfast - best hotel breakfast I've ever had. The common areas are beautifully decorated. The rooms are a little basic but very clean & comfortable.

The Metropole Guest House Pros - Near Katoomba train station. Cons - Unprofessional reception, Old and run down building, Elevator out of service, Spider webs in every corner of the room, When checked-in the room i noticed the Towel were dirty and used, Shampoo dispenser were empty, Kept waking up from sound of train station no noise isolation, Light enters the room from below the door and curtains Couldn't have a good night sleep.

Centrally located hotel
Conveniently located near Train statio and shops and eateries. Had a refurbished room which was very nice but did not have anywhere to hang clothes either in room or bathroom. Also there was no chair in the room. The bed was very comfortable
