Best staff at any hotel I've ever stayed. The room and pool were in need of some renovations. I would recommend this hotel purely based on the wonderful staff!

good location and great beach for kidsPosted Jun 1, 2014
great location with kid friendly beach if you're looking for an inexpensive hotel to spend a few nights, this will do the downside is that it is very outdated, needs a ton of work and has a lot of mildew and mold growing on everything.

Quick get awayPosted May 28, 2014
Pros: The entry and location
Cons: The restaurant could be so nice if they had a little atmosphere going on. Maybe some music would help.
Location: The location was good.
The facility charge for what you got was not worth the price. They served 4 small pieces of fruit with coffee. The fruit was obviously hanging around and dried out. Didnt make you want to come back to experience again. The airconditioner leaked badly. There is no balconies. The place could be nice with some TLC. The staff was pleasing.

Hotel, more like a motel in a bad location .Posted May 26, 2014
Pros: Not the hidden fee of $18 a day that they do not explain to you and you have no option to say no to.
Cons: How about a microwave in the room? And a sliding glass door that actually locks. No security. The 18 a day said a safe was included; we had none.
Just all around sucked. Bad cleaning staff, stayed 2 weeks and never once got new linens.

Old and out datedPosted May 22, 2014
Pros: location only
Location: Beach Park Falls
Smelly rooms. AC not fully functional but loud. Hotel should have been razed years ago. Free washer and dryer do not work. Be prepared to pay another $18/day for ammenities. Blankets smelled like they have never been washed.

Great location, great valuePosted May 22, 2014
Pros: Location. Staff.
Cons: Older hotel, could benefit from some updating. Breakfast skimpy.
Location: Great location to access any part of the island from. Best place to be on the island if you are looking to have access to reasonably priced food.
Don't listen to the haters! As long as you know you are not going to the Ritz-Carlton, and are aware that the hotel is older, and that breakfast is skimpy, there are only pleasant surprises that await you. Staff are wonderful. Great oceanfront room. Perfect location to go to the ocean front path/ gorgeous beaches or to tour the island from. My husband and I stayed longer here than we have ever stayed at a single hotel and I would have gladly stayed another week or more. Pool was nice and warm, lobby area inviting, laundry facilities appreciated. I never heard other guests or had problems with noise (apart from roosters!). Totally recommended!

Needs some freshening up, but great locationPosted May 20, 2014
This hotel is perfectly located right on popular Lydgate beach and is perfect location on the island. Kapaa offers great dining and shopping and is central between the southern and northern ends of the island. The location was really great. That being said, the hotel is in need of some updates and freshening up. Bubbling paint and rust on walls, our sliding glass door and screen door were both broken and hard to open, the tile on the pool was in very poor shape. I've been to worse hotels, but I've definitely been to better as well. Would recommend just for the location.

Good for the price.Posted May 20, 2014
Reasonable price to stay in Hawaii. Little bit of a walk to the beach as you have to walk through park to get there. Park and beach were nice.

Reasonably priced and very friendly staff!Posted May 11, 2014
Pros: Friendly staff, complimentary fruit plate breakfast, nice beach with man made pond, Jacuzzi and pool
Cons: The hotel itself is a little run down looking (especially if you're expecting what's in the website photos). Pool chairs are very old looking.
Location: Great spot located on the east side of the island in Kapa'a. Closeby: Coconut Marketplace, Eggberts for breakfast, Waimea Marina for excursions.
This hotel is very reasonably priced in comparison with others on Kauai. The hotel itself is a little run down, some paint missing here and there and furniture appears quite old and rugged looking, but if you're on a budget looking for somewhere decent to stay, this place is wonderful! The staff was extremely friendly and we never had a problem once. We must have lost our room keys over 10 times and they never gave us an issue and were very helpful. The pool and Jacuzzi were wonderful to have and I loved the man made pond located steps away from the hotel out in the ocean on a nice beach. It allows for great snorkling opportunites with lots of fish to see and a great swimming spot free of waves and any others hazards. Overall, we had a wonderful stay and I would definitely go back there.
