Nice hotel on the beach

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Very pleasant stay. We would definitely stay again. Decent rooms, nothing too fancy but they did the job. Beautiful ocean view, very friendly staff. Laundry facilities onsite were a nice advantage. Pool and Jacuzzi were both nice and kept very clean as well as the grounds. Housekeeping came daily, but it seemed all they did was make our bed. Floors were never swept but was not a real big issue for us. Very relaxing atmosphere. One big dislike was the fact they would not let you do a late check out as our plane did not leave until midnight and check out is 12, we asked for a later checkout time and they said basically we would just have to pay for another nights stay (we had stayed 10 days and kind of thought they would have worked with us)

Halfway Location

Posted Dec 19, 2014
Pros: Location. Quiet and away from highway.
Cons: Morning complementry coffee be supplied with real cream.
Location: Wailua river boat ride to the fern grotto, Back roads west of sleeping giant, Opaika Falls, Kauai Products Market in Kapaa.
Easy to get to the north and south ends of Kauai. Away from the hussle an bussle of city life. Cottages make it more private compared to a large hotel.

Best value we have seen in 5 trips to Kauai.

Posted Dec 17, 2014
Excellent location, ocean front room gives you amazing view. If you are on upper two stories you can leave your door open at night and listen to the surf just 50 yards away. Adjacent to two great places to eat (Trees and Hukilau Lanai) and Whalers General Store. Furnishings are tired, but work fine. Nice to have fridge, microwave, and ability to prepare simple meals in room or BBQ outside.

A Great Thanksgiving Weekend

Posted Dec 5, 2014
The location was lovely very close to everything we wanted to do. The staff was so nice and very accommodating. The beach was nice to walk on and very close to the hotel. The walls are a bit thin so you will hear your neighbor, but it is a very good environment and people/work quiets down at night.

Right on the beach but with disappointments

Posted Dec 3, 2014
Pros: on the beach, kitchenette very useful, free movie rentals, located near stores and eateries, nice grounds
Cons: room amenities and staff responsiveness, parking (many spaces coned off limiting parking)
Location: edge of town so stores close by car or bike, drive to snorkeling or swimming, 20 min to airport, just off main road; Po'ipu area has better snorkeling
This hotel is a series of buildings on either side of a pool and main lobby building. It is right on the ocean with lounge chairs to sit and watch the waves, which is a plus. There are free beach towels and movie rentals with Playstations in the rooms (a little tricky to use). The room was a decent size with a kitchenette and free parking though this was limited and completely full one night. The problems: a partial ocean view room only has a peek-a-boo view from the balcony, no luggage rack so be prepared to fully unpack or use the table, smell of bleach after each cleaning, poor room lighting, limited ice machines. The staff were not that responsive to comments and requests. It is next to a shopping area with a good breakfast place but no dinner place except a walk-up with overpriced seafood. The concierge was helpful for island activities and recommendations. It is in a hotel cluster in the town of Kapaa so is near grocery and drug stores, restaurants, and shopping if you have a car. The beach near it is too rough for swimming so be prepared to drive for safe swimming or snorkeling. As with most hotels on Kauai, be prepared to pay a daily taxable resort fee for which you get unsecured internet, towels, movie rentals, daily paper, and morning coffee. The grounds were nice and the room was generally clean, but the little glitches kept adding up, affecting our stay.

Ocean front room was delightful. #364

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Comfortable room, quiet resort on the beach, walk to small restaurants. Pool was being repaired so we used the pool next doorr. I was concerned when driving in through the Coconut Marketplace and the # of cars and three hotel entrances. (Crowded and tacky) that all went away when we hit the beach. Good value at $140/nt.9iincl fees). Rent a bike for $5 hr and go along the ocean bike path. Good food at "Home Cooking" little restaurant next to Foodland.

Nice Hotel, but not all the extras were available

Posted Nov 8, 2014
Pros: The staff and room
Cons: Explaining more in detail if the extras promised were not going to be available
Location: lots of shopping and eggbert restaurant was wonderful
Both my wife and I enjoyed the staff and our room, however we were not informed during our stay that the pool and pool side bar was going to be closed due to construction. This lead to the overall experience being a little disappointing. We would refer people to this hotel, but suggest they make sure all of the extras are available before booking...
