We loved stay here! We were steps away from the beach where we enjoyed the sunrise every morning. Although I don’t think that beach was swimmable. The room was very clean and nicely decorated. There was a TV, comfy couches and the bed was very comfortable. Great location with lots of shops less than 20 mins away. There is a washer and dryer on site. Be warned there is no A/C but there were a couple of fans and the sea breeze to help cool you off. At night it got pretty chilly no trouble sleeping. My one suggestion would be to get a shower curtain liner. :) everything else was great

Maintenance stole a bracelet off the coffee table. The kitchen was not well stocked with dishes, utensils etc. Garbage disposal dudnt work upon arrival. Called for maintenance. It took several hours for them to show. We decided to leave. That's when they took a valuable bracelet left on the coffee table. No safe. Property was notified. No response.

Property was very clean, well equipped, and across the street from Safeway and restaurants (Coconuts had great fish tacos and Monicos had amazing Mexican food.) The property had a beautiful view of the ocean and was steps from the beach. Inside our condo we had everything that we needed including some spare snorkels and boogie boards and even some books. The only difficult part is finding the place to check in. When you come from the airport take a right on Kamoa Road. Go down to the end of the road and on your left will be the ISO where you check in. I would highly recommend this rental and I hope to come back and experience it again someday soon. Mahalo!!!

The property is cute and the cleanliness was great. The bad thing was that there is no AC in most of the units and the weather was humid. The check-in process is also awkward since you have to go to a different location and it was raining the day my family and I arrived plus we arrived in a shuttle. Overall the place is spacious and has everything you need.

There are 2 parts to this complex the 3 bldgs near the Ocean that have Ocean views then there are the other 2 Bldgs that front view is parking lot and rear view is of concrete wall/chain link fence. Listing should have map showing this.

The condo is wonderful, well provisioned, clean and good parking. The public spaces were terrible though. The beach is eroding and is fenced off which marred the views. The building is clearly in some danger. The pool is small and cold and no hot tub. The location was great, but with no really good outdoor living we ended our stay early and found another place to stay. A shame because the unit is so nice.

There was no air conditioning and only one fan available. Luckily we were in January when it isn't so hot. The condo was very nice and included a washer and dryer so we were happy with that.

Bedrooms and bath were adequate. No accurate instructions for WiFi or TV. Really bad TV response. kitchen items were below average and considering the property was on the beach, NO BEACH TOWELS. I purchased some and left them... Disappointing VRBO. listing.

No A/C. Very loud and low quality guests staying around us. Felt unsafe and no privacy. e had no idea how to check in when we arrived. No signs to say checkin desk was off the premises. The toilet broke and we left a message to have it repaired and never heard from management. We had to fix it ourselves. We found another place to stay after the first awful night.

Place needs a deep clean. Also needs maintenance. Had to repair hand towel holder in bathroom as it was held together with a piece of plastic wrap. Place smelled musty. Sofa arms dirty and carpets were filthy. Cleaning fee was extremely high for quality of cleaning.

This property is literally steps from the beach. Beautifully manicured lawn makes a perfect place to sit while watching the sun rise. Sleep with the sound of waves crashing in the background. Not the most attractive building from the street but once inside, it’s absolutely breathtaking.

Our "oceanfront" room was directly in front of the pool. You could kind of see the ocean if you stood in the corner of the back door... lanai on the ground floor is not private.... very disappointing. The room itself was nice but not cleaned very well when we got there. Check in is confusing... you have to go to a completely different hotel to check in... that was pretty ridiculous. Luckily pur trip as a whole was amazing and overshadowed the initial disappointment of our room.

There is no air conditioning and every unit had their doors and windows to stay cool. You could hear voices all night and it was hot and miserable. Most of the doors did not open and close properly and the pool was not in good condition. We had to spend one night which ended costing $500 then moved to the hotel next door the next day.

Rented two units for this family trip. Overall it was a good stay. Just the hidden fees that took all of us by surprise and ridiculous because it's the price of another full night!!! An extra $200+ for each room. They don't tell you that this is a VRBO. THIS IS NOT STATED ON HOTELS.COM OR IF YOU GO DIRECTLY TO THE HOTEL/RESORT WEBSITE One Bedroom & Den: Towels & Trash Only $12 Towels, Trash, Bed $20 Towels, Trash, Linen $30 Two Bedroom & Den: Towels & Trash Only $14 Towels, Trash, Bed $25 Towels, Trash, Linen $40 There is a one-time check-out cleaning fee: 1-bedroom: $150.00 1-9 nights $215.00 10+nights 2-bedroom: $175.00 1-9 nights $250.00 10+nights Rented two 1 bedroom for two nights each....it should be $150 cleaning fee according to this...NOPE other HIDDEN FEES that takes you over $200. Born & raised in Hawaii & stayed in many places, these hidden fees should be know ahead of time. Whether local or visitor from anywhere else, everyone has the right to know. An extra almost $400+ that could be used to food, activities etc. No housekeeping unless you pay extra. No 24 hr front desk/guest services as stated on hotels.com & Kailani's website. You have to drive to another property for a front desk. Our units, which were across & not next to each had cleaning service people come before 11 a.m. to get in for our check out day, which they knew it was a check out day. It's a great place but be warned that you will be expected to pay an extra $200+ per room.

HIDDEN FEES and it's not a hotel
It was a nice place. VRBO not hotel. Disappointed: utensils in the drawer were dirty, dishwasher was full of dishes & dish soap was very watered down. Pay over $200 extra fees not stated for cleaning etc & they don't clean the place daily. Place blames Hotels.com for mistake & say there is nothing they can do about it. You find out when you check in that the extra fees are for stay of 1 to 9 days, if you want to change a towel they charge you. Unable to get another place because would still need to pay because it was past cancellation date. Price paid for two nights, you can stay at a big resort just down the road for cheaper. States FREE PARKING on site, we were told the upon arrival, owner of this room didn't opt for reserved parking & to park stalls not marked reserved, ALL STALLS ARE MARKED RESERVED! Limited parking in the driveway by the trees for 2 buildings, not 1, you have to cut your day short in order to ensure you have parking, if not, you will have to find it on another street far away or illegal park & create your own parking space & hope you don't get towed as people had to resort to parking because of no parking left. Wifi was crappy & slow. Check out is 11 a.m., @10:28 a.m. man was trying to come in, knocks on the door trying to get in with code & asked what time we are checking out, I said 12 as requested two hours ago with manager. No uniform on yet, glass tupperware of food, drinks, backpack and no cleaning supplies on him. Break time should be elsewhere!

Nice condo but no air conditioning.
Nice condo that is perfect for four people. Clean and stocked with kitchenware. The main thing that made it uncomfortable was there is NO AIR CONDITIONING!!! It was so hot and humid that it made it very hard to sleep causing everyone to shower throughout the night to be able to sleep more comfortable. The other small annoyance was there was only one towel per person available unless you wanted to pay a fee for new clean towels. With all the showers we took each day/night just to not feel so sticky and gross, towel service would be great or put the washer and dryer back in the unit so we can wash them ourselves.

Not sure if this is typical on Kauai if you don't stay in a super ritzy hotel, but there was no air conditioning! And we truly needed it! I realize the hotel can't control the weather, but a/c would sure be nice, especially since it wasn't an INexpensive place to stay! Other than that it was great, although I don't know why they have a "den" with a fold-out couch just off the living room instead of making it a true second bedroom??? Pull-out couches just aren't comfortable, and the extra couch just isn't needed! But a great kitchen and a decent grocery store just across the street, a nice pool and beach, and THANK YOU for the washer and dryer in the unit! A true BLESSING!!!

NOT A CLEAN PLACE
My family had to suffer with mold on everything in the bathrooms, dirty walls, loads of dust on the ceiling fans, and NOT a ocean view. Do not stay here!! Very dangerous. Electrical wires exposed from the dishwasher. Homeless camp right out in the front were we got to watch the homeless steal gas out of cars in the parking lot. NO HELP FROM HOTEL STAFF!!!!

Great stay near beach, shops & restaurants
The condo was comfortable and a great stay for my family. Right on the beach near great shops and restaurants in walking distance. There was no room service, but washer and dryer provided. We had to buy laundry detergent though. But, over all, great stay. I would reccomend and stay again. Next with a beach view!

It was right off the water, you could here the waves and feel the breeze in the beach front view room. It was excellent quality counters, flooring and furniture, and fixtures. It was very calm and quiet environment during the weekdays when we were there, more populated on weekend when we were leaving. The check in was difficult, it was 2 streets down in another building, but there was no indication in my booking to notify me of that. Took 30 minutes to find, called and did not get an immediate answer. There was no AC in the room. Which was not bad on most days when windows and doors were open, which had screens, and good circulation in room, but worst on humid days. The parking wasn't great. You had to reserve a spot and pay more to have a regular parking spot in the concrete parking lot near your room. Otherwise you had to park on the side of the parking lot along the dirt and tree line. No guaranteed parking especially at night. We actually did not have a problem finding parking spaces during the week, but when we left on Thursday, it was a lot more vehicles, indicating that the weekend might be more populated and thus a lot more difficult. There was no regular maid service, which was ok, but we were there for 5 days, it was two of us and we only had wash clothes and shower towels for 2 days. When we asked for more toilet paper and towels, it was a $12 fee, and would be that amount for each request. Plus the "cleaning fee" is an additional charge from room total.

Each unit is privately owned & some owners purchased a stall with their unit. We do have stalls at the neighboring property which is easily accessible by the gate that separates both properties if the parking lot is full. I'm sorry the front desk did not share that information with you, I will be sure to discuss this with them as well. As for parking, we do not rent out parking stalls. Each unit at Kauai Kailani is privately owned and some owners purchased a parking stall when they purchased their unit. Because the parking stalls are limited we opened up additional stalls at the neighboring property and added a gate to give everyone easier access. My apologies that the front desk did not give you that information & will be sure to address this with them. I do hope though that you enjoyed our beautiful island and all it has to offer. We hope to be able to have an opportunity again in the future to earn your business.

Loved the location....that was perfect. Overall condo complex was nice, beautiful spot right on the water (although you can not swim right there) seemed cleaned but our condo unit needed a good cleaning! Area rug was filthy needed to be thrown out...no carpet cleaning would help. All the base boards and walls need a scrubbing. With just an extra couple hrs this place would look alot better. I know its not housekeeping’s fault i bet they are allowed something like 30min clean per unit so this falls on the owners. No blender to bad. Descent cutlery and all matching plates, bowls etc. All of this was in good shape. Couch is stained and not very comfortable so i am glad we had know one sleeping on it. Bedroom floor carpet was dirty and stained too....tile floor or even vinyl would have been a better choice. Price was good so perhaps the old saying you get what you paid for! I would return with the hopes it had a better cleaning and rug thrown out and a blender for smoothies!

LISTING IN INACCURATE
Do not stay here. The main photo of the listing is NOT of the actual unit. Yes, the rooms/furniture and amenities are pretty similar but the unit is not facing the ocean. - I was charged an additional "reservation fee + cleaning fee" upon arrival which was not aware of and that totaled a few hundred extra. - I spent 3 hours on the phone being transferred from one person to the next and in the end no one was able to help with the fees. Not recommended and will not stay again.

The property was clean & in a good location. It would be nice if the room included room service (cleaning, towels, trash) in the package without extra fees to request it. It would also be nice with more kitchen supplies and maybe a spice rack of some sort for cooking. Other than that, the place was good.

There was no A/C ans was unbearable most days and evenings. The lamp shade in the den was very dirty, the blanket also had stains on it Every condo we’ve travelled to had beach chairs and other needs at the condo, this one came with nothing except 2 beach towels. The floors were dirty in bathroom.

We had a great stay at this condo! Our kids loved the pool that was right outside our condo, it was very clean and well maintained. The grounds at the property were well kept. The condo itself was great with a bonus room that worked well as a second bedroom for us because it has sliding doors we could close off while our baby napped! Kitchen could use more dishes and utensils. No A/C was okay but it did get a little warm at night when we came back to condo! Other than that it was great and we would definitely stay again. Check in is at a diff location but since we knew this ahead of time because we read the fine print, it was a breeze! Quick and easy! Great location across from Safeway and Starbucks with the beach on the other side that was fun to walk along each AM and PM!

Loved our view, had some loud neighbors the last few nights but they quieted down at quiet time. Couldn’t locate a person to get some basic needs and ended up some getting some TP from safeway acrossed the street. No big deal - parking wasn’t an issue for us, but overheard a scuffle between a regular and new person leaving (packing there car to leave). We had a great stay, but made sure to do our due diligence. We do need to check with Expedia as we thought we prepaid all fees and got charged the cleaning fee when arrived of almost $200

Noise transmission between Floors was overwhelming. Had to check in at a different location. Check in Staff was rude. Paying for Towels is ridiculous. $140 cleaning fee is uncalled for. The place was a dump when We recieved it.

Nowhere worth the price.
When we arrived on the property there were no signs for an office, invalid phone #'s in the VRBO confirmation, no email or contact info. We asked someone in the parking lot who told us "oh yeah, the office to check-in is a couple of blocks away, at the end of a deadend street. Turn left at the pink tree". I have no idea what we would have done if we arrived after dark (or hadn't run into somone in the parking lot). We walked a couple of blocks to try to find the office, when I asked asked how we were supposed to find the office to check in, we were told they weren't allowed to put up any signs at the condo. We were charged an addt'l $$$ for cleaning on top of the $$$$$ we'd already paid. That was also when they told us there was no housekeeping. Pretty sketchy. The condo was advertised at ~$$$/night the total was more than double that price. When we tried to get in the room, the lock didn't work. We called the office and were told maintenance would be right there. We waited with our bags of groceries, melting ice and luggage standing in the chilly breeze outside the door for 20 minutes 'til the guy came to replace the batteries in the lock. The condo was dingy with 1 bedroom so small there was no place to put luggage, they had to put suitcases on the couch in another room. 1 bathroom door was so warped it wouldn't close. No hooks or towel racks in any of the bathrooms, the linoleum floors were too sticky to walk on barefoot. The sliding door to the balcony wouldn't latch/lock. The screens kept coming off the tracks. The living area was awkwardly shaped with a 2 person couch and 1 armchair, not exactly set up for 4-6 people to relax/visit. We have family in Kapa'a and spend a lot of time in Kauai and will not recommend or be back to this place. Spend a comparable amount and stay at Waipouli or one of the resorts. Very disappointed.

We like the property because it's quiet, conveniently located and very close to the ocean. Noise from neighbors was limited, and a "fret party-like" room was dealt with quickly by security after calling in to let them know. This was our second stay here, and we will stay here again!

Hotel/condo was great for the price
We booked this hotel for a family stay (2 adults 2 children) and we were really excited. Then I started to read the reviews closer to our arrival and started to get a bit worried because everyone said it was hard to check in and their unit didn’t have air conditioning. However we followed the directions that were given on hotels.com and everything went smoothly. The accommodations were nice for the price. They had boogie boards in the unit that we were able to use, which was a plus, washer/dryer and air. We were in our room to sleep and have breakfast and the rest of the day we were out and about. Yes I would recommend this hotel.
