Great location, Great Staff, Great Food. But...Posted Nov 22, 2013
Pros: Quiet, serene, beautiful gardens, and friendly staff. Accommodations are large and very clean. Plenty of parking. Excellent restaurant on site.
Cons: At least add air conditioning to the bedrooms.
Location: So much to see and do here all within a few minutes drive. Golfing, diving, snorkelling, restaurants, shopping, tours, are close by but not intrusive.
This Hotel is full of the Aloha spirit. The staff is friendly, the location on the beach is terrific, the gardens are immaculate, and Starbucks is just across the street! Upon our arrival though we discovered that there is no air conditioning at this property. Just ceiling fans. The weather can get very humid so you need to pay more for an ocean view so you get a nice breeze through your unit. Is the lack of air conditioning a show stopper? Then you will miss out on one the best romantic properties in Kauai. This peaceful piece of Eden was one of the highlights of our stay in Hawaii. Serene, quiet, and full of history. We took a Biplane tour around the island and could see this property from the air. It was beautiful even from a thousand feet above the ground.

Beautiful grounds and close to everythingPosted Nov 7, 2013
A pleasant environment, great restaurant on the grounds. Condo was a bit dated and needed some maintenance ie. slow drains in bath room. Hair appliances absolutely grotty. We were told the pool would be closed but no discount.

Great LocationPosted Nov 6, 2013
The hotel is on the beach, however the pool and tennis courts were unavailable. I'm a beach person so this didn't matter. The gardens on the propoerty were outstanding. I was upgraded to a superior room with an ocean view, and the apartment was beautifully appointed and had a well cared for appearance.

A Plantation-style Garden OasisPosted Nov 5, 2013
Pros: A nice big room (recently remodelled); a well equipped kitchen; a great lanai; and beautiful lush gardens all around you.
Cons: Unfortunately, the independent contractor that maintained the pool across the street was no longer under contract so the pool was closed.
Location: Check out old Koloa town nearby (good local food at Sueoka's Snack Shop). For fine dining, try the Beach House Restaurant on Lawai Road.
We were looking for a nice-sized suite with a fully equipped kitchen and a lanai that you could actually sit on. We found all that and more at the Castle Kiahuna Plantation and Beach Bungalows. Our suite was quiet, spacious and very well-equipped. Although not air-conditioned, that did not prove to be a problem as there were big ceiling fans in the living room and bedroom. The staff at check-in and check-out were friendly and helpful. The grounds are beautiful with both lush tropical plantings as well as a very unusual cacti garden (which our lanai overlooked). We cooked most of our meals in the suite or ate out - so we can't really attest to the food or beverage aspect of the complex (although it is interesting to note that there are communal gas barbeque stations scattered throughout the gardens). All in all, a nice quiet place to hang out and use as a base to explore the island.

Too ExpensivePosted Oct 29, 2013
We stayed at 5 different places during our vacation on the Big Island, Kaua'i & Oahu and this was by far the least satisfying place we stayed in. For the price it was not comfortable nor was the facilities satisfying -- no wifi! Only facility that didn't provide.

Nice hotel close to the beach.Posted Oct 2, 2013
Pros: That it was quiet and close to the beach.
Cons: The cleaning crew should be train to do their job.
Location: It is a small island so everything is close by, the beach is close by and the town of Koloa.
It is a nice hotel close to the beach, the beach is not that long but it is a decent one. The only problem for me was the cleaning crew, who ever was in charge of cleaning my room did not clean at all.

The room we stayed in desperately needs a remodel.Posted Oct 1, 2013
Pros: Location was great.
Cons: Room condition.
Location: Poipu has lots of nice reastaurant choices and shopping.
The location of Kiahuna Plantation is excellent. The 'grounds' and common areas of the property were excellent / beautiful. Our room however was in need of a remodel. I know each 'condo' unit is privately owned; but the unit we were in should be taken out of the program until it is updated. Every surface (all floors, counters, sinks) and just about all furniture was embarrassing (old, worn out, dated, dirty, outdated). I thought that by going through Expedia I would be able to avoid this type of situation. Also when we arrived we were told "the pool is closed" (something about the company that managed the pool went out of business). We did not receive any advance notice about this - kind of a big deal - and no concession was offered.

Beautiful grounds and awesome beach front.Posted Sep 25, 2013
Pros: We like everything about this hotel we don't even consider it a hotel though because we feel quite at home here.
Cons: Well considering that its an older place a few things can be fixed up or cleaned better but it's nothing too bad.
Location: It's close to a lot of things and a lot of new and great restaurants that we loved.
We always love the Kiahuna plantation, it's a beautiful place with a lot of things to do nearby. The grounds are spectacular and staff is very friendly. We like staying here because of the old Hawaiian style buildings and rooms and its not a huge high rise hotel.
