A good value!Posted Nov 6, 2014
Pros: The view and the ocean breeze.
Cons: Curved shower curtain rods would add room to the shower without making any significant changes.
Location: Close to shopping and restaurants...and beaches everywhere.
Ok, this is probably not a 4 star hotel. But considering that the price is way less than any other option I could find, the quality is much better than I expected. There is a nice breeze that flows through the rooms that make it comfortable sleeping temperature. There's plenty of space in the room, and the lanai (patio) is large enough to relax on and enjoy. The view is spectacular from every room! The beds are a little stiff, but not bad. The pillows are very comfortable. The room is clean. The mini refrigerator is actually pretty good sized, so you can get plenty of stuff in there, and there is a small kitchen sink by the fridge. I've dealt with 3 different front desk staff and they were all polite and friendly. The parking is free, and I haven't had any trouble finding a parking spot near my room yet and I've been at the hotel for 6 nights now. The bathrooms are clean and spacious enough. The shower is a little cramped and the shower head is low, so not great for larger or taller people...like me, but I can live with it. Great water pressure! It's been very quiet every night here so far. It's true there are no televisions or phones, but who needs a room phone anymore?..and I use my laptop or tablet to watch movies in my downtime. The WiFi is a little slow, but I was able to stream an entire movie on my first day here, with only a few small delays. It's not perfect, but if you're on a budget but still want decent quality, I definitely recommend this place.

Amazing locationPosted Oct 29, 2014
Pros: Sunrise view
Cons: Small paint jobs
Location: Lots of restaurants and shopping within easy walking distance.
Be warned, no AC but, then again, there isn't much throughout the islands. Great staff, super accommodating. A little run down, but secure, clean, efficiency rooms at an amazing value for the location. Don't miss the sunrise from your porch! Also, the pool is great.

No internet for 3 daysPosted Oct 26, 2014
No internet for 3 days. Ants in my room. Staff not knowledable about bus schedule or area. No beach. Ok for budget hotel but would not recommend it. Only way to get around on Kauai is by car.

Great view and terrible room and customer servicePosted Oct 11, 2014
Rooms have no ventilation., fans, air conditioning, phone, microwave, TV. Homeless people sleep in the vacant Lot next door. Staff are rude. Noisey at night until 9pm. Security guard was in lobby most of the time. If you want anything you have to call on your cell phone or go to 5 he front desk since there are no phone in the room. People there were not friendly or helpful

Right on the beachPosted Oct 8, 2014
Cons: Customer service.I tried 3times to reach the front desk it rang until it hung up.
Location: Great restaraunt on the property.
Arrived after dark so I really coudn't see how close the water was.as soon as I walked in the room I noticed something missing...a tv. No tv anywhere! So I walked back to the front desk and asked about a tv....we don't have them! There was nowhere on there webpage about not having a tv...the lady at the desk said I just work here.I told her to cancel the other 2 days.. the next morning.when I saw the view I decided to stay, incredible view.

Budget friendly hotel on the beachPosted Sep 22, 2014
Pros: Staff and location.
Cons: The rooms could use some cosmetic repair.
Location: In Kapa'a, near grocery stores, shopping and numerous restaurants.
This is not a five-star hotel and there are no televisions in the rooms, but it is a very comfortable, friendly, safe place to stay at a very reasonable price. Regular rooms have twin beds. Although the hotel is older and is not chrome and glass, it is maintained fairly well. I thoroughly enjoyed being feet from the ocean and having a nice pool to swim in. The grounds are very beautiful and well-maintained.

A dump in paradise!Posted Aug 21, 2014
Pros: Location is excellent.
Cons: Tear it down and build a new one.
Location: Kapa'a is a great town, there is a Safeway near by and multiples little shops and restaurants. There is also a 5 mile coastal bike path.
The place is very run down. We stayed there for 5 days and we were very disapointed. The staff was nice but the manager is a crook. I would never go back there or recomend it to anyone unless the price is right, by right I mean crazy low. There are no televisions in the rooms, no AC and only twin beds. It is also a place for locals to party at night, they rented a room besides ours and were loud all night. The ocean is right there but impossible to go in cause of the coral reef. However the town of Kapa'a is wonderful and a great place to stay, go to Pono Market for lunch it is great.

Nice vintage hotel with wonderful sea viewsPosted Aug 19, 2014 on Hotels.com
A unique vintage motel: for $80 per night you can have a wonderful sea-view in a hotel that will remind you "Magnum". Kauai is very small so you can easily travel by car from the hotel every day.

Chickens are greatPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: location, location, location, price. Quiet. Except they didn't tell me they were going to charge me a fee of $20 dollars a day for "resort fee per day
Cons: Remove that silly "resort fee"
Location: It's located in a location to get started on where ever you are going.
It is a great place to stay. The prices are the best. The location is great. The people are great. free parking. Shopping center right across the street. But best of all is this little restaurant in the shopping center that has home cooked meals. the best home cooking we had while on Kauai. Great people run the place and it has the best beefsteak and gravy I ever had. Breakfast is best also. If it weren't for that little restaurant we would have starved. the name of the place is Waipouli Restaurant in the corner of the shopping center. Right across the street from the hotel. A lot of chickens roam the area but they are great fun to watch. The hotel is right on the beach. You can sleep to the sounds of the waves crashing on the shore. great place, bes we had in all the islands with the help of the little restaurant.
