Beautiful Place !

Posted Sep 28, 2014
Pros: Beautiful grounds and facility. Peaceful.
Cons: Have pool open until midnight. There is an adult pool which would have been a good candidate. Self parking was crowded but really not a problem.
My wife and I spent 6 days at the Grand Hyatt. Very friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful facility and property. Good location. We were able to see most all important sites no more than 1 hour from even the North Shore. We had a Garden View room on the 6th floor. Very peaceful and quiet. Really wish the pools were open past 9 pm, with this size of a resort should have been open until at least midnight even if it was just a certain select pool. Overall it was a very nice experience.

Beautiful hotel

Loved every aspect of this beautiful hotel other than the fact that there is not a swimmable beach directly in front of it. The staff was most efficient and quite friendly and helpful.

Most Enjoyable

Pros: Everything
Cons: I found one of the concierge's to be a bit cold to deal with, but she did help us find a place for dinner one night.
We popped over to Kauai from Oahu for a couple night stay at the Grand Hyatt. We found the staff to be very friendly and welcoming. Would recommend the property to anyone.

This is the best hotel stay we've ever had!

Pros: The grounds are beautiful, the room was beautiful and the sound of the ocean is calming and wonderful, the pools are fantastic, the food...all great.
Cons: nothing needs improvement.
Location: Sunny side of Kauai, which is a beautiful island in itself. So much to do.
We love this hotel...quiet, pretty beyond belief, fun. Open the slider and you hear only the ocean! The lagoon pools are fantastic...it's pure heaven!

Big resort hotel next to a beach only for surfing

Posted Aug 29, 2014
Enormous resort hotel with large pool complexes and plenty of comfortable poolside seating. Great setting on driest/sunniest corner of island. Good choice of excellent restaurants, great tennis courts, golf next door, rooms are well appointed, clean and comfortable; great facilities for kids. Towels for poolside plentiful! Only downside is the public beach that the hotel faces: whilst beautiful and pristine, the hotel permanently displays a red flag, provides no lifeguard, no chairs or parasols and the sea and current are pretty rough - making the beach/sea only for advanced surfers. To be fair, the hotel make no claim about the beach in their promotional literature but the size/scale of the resort hotel means you are not getting a 'hideaway' quiet escape location nor are you getting a great (and thus busy) beach location where you can swim in the sea (like Waikiki on Oahu)
