wunderschöne Appartementanlage am Meer, sehr ruhig

Posted Jul 27, 2015

The best hotel on Kauai

Posted Jul 19, 2015
Pros: location, location, location
Cons: nothing
Location: Magical side of the island.
This is the by far the most relaxing hotel in Kauai! If you are looking to disconnect from life and recharge the batteries, this is the place for you. I will be going back in less than 6 months.

Choice Location for experiencing North Kauai

Posted Jul 6, 2015
Pros: Location Location! I like it's low key vibe.
Cons: Kitchen could be upgraded? Fan in kitchen?
Location: Kauai is very expensive! Bring spices and other ingredients to cook with. The farmers market was a rip off and had little to buy for the most part.
This resort is small, quaint and family friendly. They have thought of all that you need to be comfortable and have a great vacation. The staff are friendly, low key and efficient. It would be a great place for a family reunion as there are great spaces to bbq and hang out. The free shuttle to beaches, Hanalei town and Princeville is an AMAZING feature which we took full advantage. A few points to consider before booking - this property would likely not suit couples without children wanting peace and quiet. Due to no air conditioning, all windows are open night and day so you can hear other guests. People were mostly respectful of this fact however in the end what can you do about a screaming baby? Secondly, the beach in front of the resort is not swimmable. You will need to drive or take the shuttle to Tunnels or further north for swimmable ocean. The property's swimming pool and hot tub are great features but they need more umbrellas for the lounging area.

Pros: Views, comfort, quiet, sunrise.
Ocean front views and location are amazing. The sunrise from here is better than the sunset, which was even more amazing.

Beautiful propert. Close to area beaches

Posted Jun 10, 2015
Gorgeous property with fantastic ocean views. Loved being close to North Shore Beaches. Especially appreciated the complimentary shuttle so didn't have to deal with the hassle of parking. Comfortable and relaxing. Staff was friendly and very helpful. Will definitely return.

Still in the 70's-outdated.

Posted Jun 6, 2015
Pros: Location
Cons: Property needs updating.
Location: Hiking, kayaking, swimming, snorkeling.
Pros- beautiful location, very friendly staff. Cons- Had asked for a 2 bedroom accommodation. Got there and found it was a room with plantation shutters. The property was built in the early 70's and it shows .

Relaxing getaway on the Northshore of Kauai

Posted May 30, 2015
Pros: The view, location.
Location: Very close to world famous Kalalau Hiking Trail (Na Pali Coast), Ke'e and Tunnels Beach, Hanalei Bay, Lighthouse at Kilaluea. Overcast only 2/7 days
Had one of the most relaxing times. Perfect location to get away from the fast paced life. Beautiful setting!! No traffic or congestion like on the Southshore. Enjoyed eating with the locals at Tahiti Nue and loved the tapas at BarAcuda Restaurant (both in Hanalei).

OK accommadation on the beach

Posted May 23, 2015
Pros: The rooms and the view.
Cons: They should offer a welcome pack, bread, milk, eggs, spreads so at least you don't have to leave and drive back 10ks. No fascilities here.
Location: Everything is a drive, the beach is not a swimming beach, rocks everywhere but a lovely location.
My first impression on arrival was one of disappointment, the buildings are fairly old, really peaved that the restaurant was not open, we were there for the last 2 nights of 2 weeks in Hawaii and were looking for something special. Greet staff was a very nice lady, she tried to allay my disappointment but if wanted to complain I should write to management. My first reaction was to leave and go elsewhere, but I had paid a substantial amount in advance so that was not an option, I will never do that again.. Went to the room and had an upstairs apartment and was very pleasantly surprised on entry, roomy, fairly modern, comfortable, fantastic views of the water. We checked in and found next to nothing in the way a welcome pack for a place is fairly isolated, had to drive 10 Km back into town to buy the basic needs, opportunity missed by them. They are charging 5 star rates for 3 star experience, I paid lees than half the rate back in Kapaa for a 4.5 star stay. Wont be going back and I will never pay in advance again, I think they know they would have quite a few walk out.

Fantastic location for Napili and Tunnels

Posted May 19, 2015
Pros: Location.
Cons: We had planned on eating at least on meal on site so the resturant closure was a disappointment. The shuttle was fully utilized by a wedding party.
Location: Hiking, snorkling ( if the surf dies down it was to big for any but the very experienced when we were there) activities in Hanalei if you drive in.
Great location near the start of the Napili coast trail and tunnels beach. The property is on a beach that is not suitable for swimming but lovely to walk on and very quiet. The restaurant is closed so you do need to bring any food that you will need .The drive into the nearest town is significant not because of the distance but because of the one lane bridges, torrential rain potential and other tourist traffic. The shuttle was booked by a wedding party when we tried to use it so it may not be available unless you book. The units are old and will accomodate 4 adults but the sleeping spaces are separated by partitions not walls so you do feel that you are in a large dorm rather than a 2 bedroom unit. We heard everything from the unit above. Not a problem as we too were up at 5.30 am but ...Not really a resort rather a group of old wood frame condos but it has some charm and if you want to be close to the Napili coast park it is a great location. There is a basic kitchen but a small sink and no dish washer so cooking for 4 can be a challenge.
