“Very reliable family-run hotel”

Excellent room, convenience parking. Superb continental breakfast. Easy to find location, even though I arrived at night. Once I was there, I always found my way back easily from anywhere on the island.

“Historic Hawiian Hospitality”

The Kauai Inn is an old-fashioned plantation style resort that was remodeled to modern standards while maintaining its charm. Naturally finished wooden floors and railings add to the atmosphere. Jalousie windows provide cross-ventilation. Although the rooms have individual A/C units, with the natural breezes and the ceiling fan, I didn't need to use it. The rooms also have a refrigerator and microwave. There's a continental breakfast with muffins, bagels, bread, toast and fruit every morning. The staff is friendly and helpful, and the neighborhood's quiet except for the roosters crowing in the morning (Kauai is famous for its feral chickens). The bed was slightly soft, but adequate. The Kauai Inn is not a beach resort, but is a convenient base for exploring the island.

“Best Buy for a Quiet Comfortable Leisurely Stay”

Great friendly Services. Very clean and well-ventilated rooms without odor of cleaning products. Super comfortable bed and pillows. Clean fresh towels everyday with no detergent or bleach smell. Well-functioning refrigerator and microwave oven. Fixture and furniture a bit dated but clean and working - country style charm. Cool and clean hardwood floor. Lovely patio with soothing green yard view. Free tea, coffe, and juice all day. On-site coin laundry facility. Plenty of drawers and closet space. The only drawbacks are the slow internet speed and a few mosquitoes that may have flown in during room cleaning depite of screened windows and patio door. Bring mosquito incense (sold in some Asian household goods stores).

“Best deal on Kauai, hands down!”

Had a 5 hour delay getting from Denver to Lihue but the hotel experience was a totally great experience. The night office person stayed until 11:00 waiting for us and talked us into the motel via cell phone as the signs on the road ways were less than desirable. (not the hotels fault). The room was clean, the continental breakfast was great, and the location of the hotel was perfect. I would stay there again. We came to relax and the area was perfect for relaxation.

“Thanks for the Aloha!”

We felt more like family than guests and it was wonderful.....everyone that works there is so friendly.....the hotel is so lovely, and away from all the traffic.....the plants and vegetation is well kept and beautiful. Housekeeping came in every day to clean and the staff there is number 1 in our books. The breakfast of pastries, fresh fruit, breads, etc., was always very fresh, lovely and served at tables where folks staying there from all over the world could sit together and share memories of their Hawaiian trip. It is located near the harbor so we were able to see the cruise ships come and go......We have stayed at other places in Kauai, but this is our favorite......even the owners family lives on property and were always very accessible....Joe, the weekend manager was great!!! We will be back....Mahalo for the Aloha....

“Was like going home!!!”

We have stayed at the Kauai Inn before and this time they were so busy.....we were glad to see that business was doing well for them. Everyone who works there is always so kind and very helpful. They still do the continental breakfast every morning with fresh fruit and bakery goods, etc. It is a pleasant touch to be able to mingle with other guests in the early morning. The grounds are kept really well and one day we noted the owner even spraying weeds a significant distance from the hotel. Because they have the convenience of a laundry area, we did not have to pack a great deal of clothing. A real family environment and as I said before, it was like being welcomed home again. Mahalo to the McKnight family for another wonderful visit!

“We will return!”

We had a wonderful time at the Kauai Inn, and will return there on our next trip. the continental breakfast was a real bargain, and the fresh fruit every morning is a great way to start the day. The staff was very accomodating and the facility was always clean. Overall, it was a very enjoyable experience and one that we highly recommend.

“Would definitely stay again”

Tucked away from the main highway and down in a little valley, this hotel was a real treat. The room was big, clean and comfortable. The grounds pleasant and quiet with a great view of the mountains wgich were close by. We felt like we were in the country away from the usual hustle and bustle of larger hotels. The staff was friendly and accomodating. We were close to all of our activities including a variety of places to eat. The money we saved by choosing this hotel allowed us to spend a ton more on fun activities and the morning breakfast around the courtyard allowed us to share activities and stories with other guests. Wound not consider staying anywhere else.
