“Momma and Poppa Motel -”

Have no real complaints regarding the motel - low priced for the Island of Kauai; the management and staff are most congenial and go out of their way to assist their guest.

“Don't go there unless you found anything else.”

Rooms too small, ants in the toiletroom, suspicous neighborhood, no pool, but nice service employees really helpfull overall continental breakfast ok noisy till eleven at night

Must see

Kaui Island. You have to do all the way around. Each side of the Island is having amazing landscape, canyon, beachs ands mountains.

“Kinda gross”

It was an unimpressive stay. Trashy locals hanging out and drinking on the patio. Cockroaches and spiders in our room. Nuff' said.

“PICTURE BETTER THAN IN PERSON”

THE 1ST ROOM THAT WE HAD BOOKED WAS A STANDARD RM WHICH WAS EXTREMELY SMALL SO WE UPGRADED TO A LARGER ROOM. THE FIRST NIGHT WE WERE THERE WE HAD A LEAK FROM THE CEILING ONTO THE BED. COULD NOT MOVE US TO ANOTHER RM AND THE STAFF ACTED AS IF THEY NEW NOTHING OF IT, WHEN IT CLEARLY HAD BEEN RESTUCCOED BEFORE. THE LOCATION WAS TOO FAR FROM BEACHES AND THE PICTURE ON THE INTERNET MADE IT LOOK ALOT NICER THAN IT WAS. THE SECURITY CHAIN ON THE DOOR WAS BROKEN. WITH ALL THIS BEING SAID, THE LANDSCAPE WAS VERY NICE AND THE FACILITY WAS VERY CLEAN. OK FOR A COUPLE NIGHTS STAY BUT NOT ANYMORE THAN THAT.

“Quaint Place To Stay”

There is a saying that goes "don't judge a book by it's cover." Upon arrival of the hotel, the outside needed a paint job. Once we went into our room, we found it to be a nice and quaint place. The rooms were nice, clean, and comfortable. We enjoyed our stay and will be back in the future.

When to go

The best time to go is the summer where the weather is nice and hot. Hawaii is most beautiful in the summer time.

Getting there

I would suggest either Hawaiian Airlines or GO airlines. Both have great planes rides. Go has cheaper airfare.

Getting around

Must rent a car. Driving around Kauai does not take much and you want to see everything, you also want to take your time in sightseeing.

Dining

The Bull Shed has the best food in town. If you want burger, go to Hanalei to a place called Ono burgers and grill. It is a 45 minute drive from Lihue, but it is worth it.

Outdoors or beach

Barking Sands Beach, Poipu Beach, and Hanalei Beach are the most beautiful beaches in the world. Spend a day on these beaches and you won't be disappointed.

“Not my favorite”

We needed a room for one night to keep from having to drive from the north shore of Kuaui to the airport very early for an off island tour. This barely fit the bill. the queen sized bed filled all but a few feet of the room and the closet was completely taken up by the mini refirgerator. Not a good place to stay for any length of time.

“Satisfactory”

Satisfactory accommodations, friendly staff, good location. The roosters crowing at all hours is a negative because with no air conditioning the windows were open, but it didn't bother me after the first night.,

“Great little hotel”

Amazingly friendly and helpful people working here. I stayed for just one night but the room was a decent cheaper hotel room. Bed was clean and comfortable and the room had all the basics needed. I would stay for a short time here again.

“Charming and Quaint”

The absolute friendliest staff! They will make you feel welcome from the moment you arrive. The hotel is adorable and clean! It is right around the corner from the best saimin in the world too! They have pastries and coffee every morning for you with friendly service as well. There is also a washer and dryer to use! I can't say enough good things about this hotel. If you are looking for a place with true aloha spirit - look no further.

Area recommendations

If you are going to Kauai - visit Hanaras saimin shop around the corner. Also take a walk to the Buddha Boutique - absolutely adorable clothes with the nicest staff ever! My daughter and I got some wonderful clothes there. Take an ATV ride at Kipu ranch and ask for Mana and Ryan - go on the 4 hour waterfall tour - it's beautiful and amazing and those two guys will fill you with knowledge about the area while keeping you safe and laughing. Kapaa is a cute city - fun to shop - nothing opens til 10 though - so remember that if you are an early riser. Have a great time on Kauai - everyone is nice and friendly and its beautiful.
