Disappointing

Posted Jan 22, 2015
Pros: Close to airport.
Cons: Seriously needs updating.
Our first night on Kauai (mid-January 2015) was like staying in a developing nation. The room was tiny, with ancient and dirty carpet, all in need of a good scrubbing, or preferably, a complete remodel. Construction across the street started early the next morning. Definitely would not stay here again.

Don't stay here.

Pros: Pleasant staff
We booked this hotel for one night as we were arriving late and didn't want to drive to Poipu In the dark. We were surprised by the junky neighbourhood. The night manager was welcoming, and carefully explained the house rules..which were many and seemingly designed for a flop house kind of customer. Our room was a tiny box with twin beds and a tiny bathroom. The carpet was absolutely filthy. One bed was pushed up against the a/c unit. The bathroom was clean, though. We couldn't wait to leave in the morning. Tip: do not let the staff photocopy your picture I.D. In a weak moment, due to fatigue, I did. I asked for the photocopy in the morning and it was returned.

Pros: The staff
Cons: Building and cleanliness
The staff was super friendly but the rooms had not close-able windows on doors that made it noisy and hard to control the temperature.

Basic Room and Shelter

Posted Jan 2, 2015
Pros: The clerk, Mokihana, who checked me in, was the nicest and most helpful. Nice mountain view from second story room where I stayed. Convenient parking.
Cons: There were tiny little bugs on the tiny little counter, and I noticed one small roach crawling across the bathroom floor one day; get rid of these!
Location: Located in the middle of town Lihue, access to businesses, yet "hidden" on a back street.
The room was very basic with little amenities. I requested a small table to borrow but there was none available. One morning a guest asked for coffee (available only 7-9AM) and the desk clerk brewed some more, but seemed annoyed to have to do it. I did notice a small microwave oven in the lobby area but it had no utensils available to use with it, such as mugs for hot water or whatever. I would've preferred a unit with somewhat of a kitchenette but this felt like an expensive, glorified fisherman's motel for the price that I paid.

Very Small Room

Posted Dec 23, 2014
Pros: The Hotel Staff were friendly.
Location: You have some restaurants very close and it is close to the Airport.
We booked through expedia. It was a really small hotel and convenient for people to sleep after long trek. If you are thinking of going there with family, try finding a different place. Pros: Close to the Airport, Close to some restaurants Cons: Small rooms

Quaint, but...

Posted Dec 18, 2014
Pros: 3 bedroom room with kitchenette. Quaint.
Cons: Not sure if my king bed room was indicative of the other king bed rooms, but that was awful. No Internet in my room.
Location: Right in Lihue, 5 minutes from airport.
It's a nice spot, but I was originally in a single king bed room that was not pretty. It was a bit weathered, the bed filled the entire room, and there were no windows. The ac unit didn't work and as a result I asked to be moved to a different room. They moved me to a 3 bedroom kitchenette. Fantastic. This is the type of accommodations I expected and I was pleased with the duration of my stay. There were these little microscopic ant-looking things on the bathroom counter. Internet didn't work in my room.

No frills hotel with friendly staff, close in.

Posted Dec 13, 2014
Pros: Close to center of Lihue, within walking distance to Shopping centers,(about 6/10ths of a mile) and some good restaurants.
Location: Although was in close proximity to town center, it was quite.
I spent most of my time exploring the island, I knew that I wanted little more than a place to clean up and sleep with no extra frills that I would not use. I am satisfied with my choice and my stay.

Clean Next to Airport

Posted Dec 5, 2014
Stayed here just one night after a late flight in. The property manager was very nice both at night and asked me how everything was in the morning. It was a small room and very clean, but the bed wasn't the most comfortable. The chickens woke me up in the morning, but par for the course on this island. Definitely worth the money paid.
