Relaxing hotel!

Posted Jan 13, 2015
Small, luxe hotel. Ideal for couples. Great ocean views from partial ocean view room. Beach w surfing opportunities and some snorkeling. Nice chairs to lay out with views of the ocean or poolside. Great breakfast and dinner at Red Salt in the hotel. Staff was beyond attentive. They allowed us a very convenient early check in and a late check out. Hotel is on a relaxing part of the island. We preferred it to staying on the east side of the island. Things we wished were different-- a self parking option since there is only valet and a flat sheet since there was a down comforter which was hot. But, overall, we loved the hotel!

Great hotel!

Posted Jan 10, 2015
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
Location: Lots of secluded beaches nearby that are "off the beaten path." Port Allen is where a lot of the sea trips go out of.
We had such a great experience at this hotel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We went during a very busy time of year and the staff never seemed rushed (like another hotel we visited on another part of the island). The bartender even remembered us the next day and asked how our activities went that day! Valet remembered our last name and welcomed us back by name when we returned. When you check you in they personally take you to your room and show you the amenities. Everything was nice, new, clean, and modern. Would def recommend this hotel to anyone!

Lovely small resort

Posted Dec 24, 2014
Pros: intimate environment, friendly staff
Location: Great location on the southern shore
We really enjoyed our stay at Ko'a Kea. It has a wonderfully intimate feel to it, and every single staff member was pleasant, friendly, and helpful. It is much smaller than the Grand Hyatt down the road, and we loved that fact. My small quibbles have to do with the expensive extras -- the margaritas by the pool were $15 each (and not huge by any standard) and you only get 6 Nespresso pods for your entire stay (extras are $1 each). But this didn't diminish our experience, and we would stay again at Ko'a Kea without a doubt.

Excellent hotel-upscale & above average

Posted Nov 28, 2014
Pros: The personal touch by all the staff (they knew our names) was great. They were helpful-not like the big impersonal hotel staffs.
Cons: The price of the cocktails was a little high-but it is with other upscale spots tto.
Location: Located on the south-there are many nearby dining and shopping choices. Sightseeing is just a car ride away-North coast-west coast-all worth the trip.
The location is great on the Poipu beach. The view from the pool of the beach & ocean is outstanding. The hotel is small (not a huge mega-hotel) so the service is exceptional. Every detail is excellent. The rooms were very comfortable and the verandas were a nice treat. The bathroom and the amenities were above average. The Red Salt restaurant is above average. Great seafood specials each night. Also, the breakfasts were reasonably priced.

静かで食事のおいしいホテル。レストランのインテリアやメニューに日本的な香りがあります。

Posted Nov 25, 2014
Pros:

Perfect place to forget about the daily grind

Posted Nov 11, 2014
Pros: Size. It allows for a more personalized attention.
Spent a whole week for a babymoon. Great location, attentive staff and one of the best restaurants in Kauai. If you're not a fan of large resorts, this is your best option.

The perfect resort on Kaua'i

Posted Oct 20, 2014
We were at Koa Kea for our honeymoon. After a long flight out from Toronto, we landed late on a Saturday and were greeted immediately by smiles and complimentary champaign. The private resort beach is west facing, so perfect for the sunset view. Food at Red Salt is easily one of the best on the island! Overall, we had an extremely memorable honeymoon. We would highly recommend Koa Kea to other couples!
