Pros: Quiet, boutique, clean hotel right on the beach.
Location: Wonderful snorkeling beaches, good restaurants and little mall close by.
We went to Kauai to get married and were looking for a romantic (not family friendly place to stay). We picked this hotel after reading reviews and Expedia and we were not disappointed. It is amazing boutique hotel and probably the best place to stay in Kauai if you are looking for a romantic place... Hotel is small but beautiful, staff is really attentive and friendly. Room was clean and housekeepers did a great job. There is an amazing beach right by the hotel and you can snorkeling gear right at Koa Kea. We saw turtles, monk seal and a bunch of beautiful fishes.. Pool was relaxing as well. Not crowded and no kids... Just plain fun.. The best place to stay in Kauai!

Super Hotel and great location.Posted Nov 16, 2013
Pros: Everything but the dinner menu in the restaurant./Never had to fight for a deck chair around the pool.
Location: Everything is available, Submarine,Zip line,Helicopter rides Tubing and drive to many of the Island sights.
My only comment about the hotel that would be a bit negative is the restaurant is very expensive and not much to choose from past seafood.Staff were wonderful and very attentive.I would go back in a heartbeat.

Great "Boutique Resort" in the Poipu Beach AreaPosted Oct 30, 2013
Pros: Location, rooms, staff, beach access.
Location: Snorkeling, Hiking, Visit the "Spouting Horn" near to the Resort, Shopping in 2 malls next to the resort.
This Hotel is a relatively small "Boutique Hotel" in the south shore of Kauai. The Koa Kea has very comfortable and clean rooms, partially with ocean view. From the (quite) pool area you have direct access to the Poipu Beach, which is a nice beach for snorkeling and surfing. The beach itself is not exactly perfect for swimming as you will find a lot of rocks in the water. However it is still a good beach. The pool in the hotel is nice, but don't expect an olympic size pool, it is rather small. The Hotel is embedded in a resort area, next to the Marriot's Waiohai Beach Club. This has the advantage that you can use some of their amenities, like the Starbucks Coffee served in their Deli. However the Koa Kea has also a good restaurant, serving breakfast and dinner. The Hotel Staff is very friendly and helpful. I can recommend this hotel.

Great HoneymoonPosted Oct 27, 2013
Pros: We liked the small size of the hotel, giving it a very cosy and personal services feel.
Cons: The restaurant (Red Salt) is vastly overpriced for the quality of food served. We only ate there one night. Breakfasts are very good, however.
Location: Best snorkelling is west of the Beach House Restaurant - saw two turtles there. Get a car and do everything. Do not miss the Waimea Canyon drive.
The hotel has excellent staff, starting with parking valets. They were SO helpful and having this service offered was wonderfully convenient. All staff were very friendly.

Exactly what we were looking forPosted Oct 17, 2013
This was one if our favorite places we have EVER stayed. The hotel staff was very helpful, the food was great and the room was fabulous. The room was cleaned picked up twice a day, the beds were very comfortable and I loved that the hotel was small. It was in a great location. We hope to stay here again.

A very relaxing stay, five well-earned starsPosted Oct 5, 2013
We had a wonderful stay at Koa Kea. We felt welcomed and cared for. The staff were hospitable and gracious. The valets and front desk staff were a delight to talk with and very helpful with volunteering information and asking how things were. The accommodations and decor throughout the resort were simply stunning - just love that dual head walk-in shower! We especially appreciated the room upgrade to "partial ocean view". :) My beautiful wife and I felt this was a perfect little spot for our honeymoon. We were nuts about the hot tub and pool. Small item: one night we wanted to watch a movie and felt the selection was meager. First world problems, I guess ;) go and enjoy! Kauai is marvelous!
