Decent stay for travelers with family

Posted Jul 21, 2014
If your traveling on a budget with family this a decent place to stay equipped with a full kitchen. The hotel is old but furnishings are somewhat modern. Facility is a few feet from coconut market place and the beach. The downside to the hotel are the ants that roamed the kitchen and the tub curtain smelled like urine.

Close to ocean with kitchen and laundry

Posted Jun 28, 2014
Pros: Kitchen, laundry facilities, good location, ocean view, pools.
Cons: Security
Location: Trail along the beach was awesome! Close to beach, grocery stores, and shopping.
We loved this great hotel in Kapaa. The kitchen has a full size frig, stove, oven, and even dishes and flatware. When we checked in, we were given a room on the bottom floor facing the garden/pool, which would have been fine except on the first night a creepy young guy came up to us as we sat out on the lanai and asked us if we were looking for "some excitement." We said NO, but he hung around anyway and kept asking us creepy questions, i.e. "Are you here by yourselves?" "When are you leaving?", etc... We finally excused ourselves and went back inside and called the front desk to report the intrusion. A security person came down and located the creep and asked him to leave the hotel as he was not a registered guest. We were able to switch rooms the following morning, but the first night was very unsettling. The second room was on the second floor with an ocean view and we felt more at ease. I think the staff handled the situation well, but I would recommend a second floor room close to the office. We didn't have any other problems with the hotel and loved the location and amenities.

Great help with activities

Posted Jun 19, 2014
Pros: The room was clean and the maids cleaned it every day.
Cons: I would have liked the room ready before 3 p.m.
Location: The hotel is located close to a mall and had a nice farmers market on Tues. and Thurs. Great places to eat and shop.
Holly helped us with our helicopter ride and tubing. Her suggestions were very helpful and her personality was a joy to work with. All of the personal was cheerful and helpful. It was a great stay.

Amazing Vacation!

Posted Jun 17, 2014
The Plantation Hale was great! 2 Couples stayed in the room and it was perfect. The bedroom is seperate from the living room and the living room has an extra bed! The room was completely stocked with dishes and tupperware, and the staff was great! It was inexpensive compared to others, and was all around fantastic. I would definately go there again!

Great staff. Holly has been very knowledgeable to provide good guidance on places to visit. Crystal in the Front desk has been helpful to relocate our room due to noisy.

Nice and close to amenities

Posted Jun 8, 2014
The room was nice but small for 6 people. We were only there for 1 night so all was good. We didn't cook in our room, but if you would have to, the stove is very small and the kitchen is on the smaller side. It was close however to the airport (which is why we liked it) and its right next to a shopping center will all amenities. The desk staff were quite nice. We were able to check in early and were able to check out late. We checked out at 5pm instead of 1200 and the charge was only $50 which was quite reasonable. Overall, Plantation Hale was nice and perhaps there are larger rooms for 6, but 4 persons in our room would have been better.

Great condo facing lovely beach

Posted May 30, 2014
Pros: The hotel concierge was particularly helpful in recommending and booking excellent activities.
There was about 100 yards of grassy parkland, with lots of white egrets, between our condo and the beach. The pools are lovely, the staff are friendly, and the setting is spectacular and convenient to activities and the airport. We hope to return!

Condo by the Sea

Posted May 26, 2014
Plantation Hale is about 100 yds from a nearly vacant beach, across a field. The units are condos, with full kitchens and decent furnishings. They got me a king-sized bed and high-speed hard-wired internet, which were priorities. A couple of minor problems got their maintenance out within 5 minutes of my call, and they fixed it. There is an Expedia Concierge on site, who was very helpful in selecting the various things to do. It's only about 10 minutes from the Lihui airport, on the main highway, so it's easy to find and centrally located. Lots of restaurants nearby. This was my second time there, and I'll be back.

Great place, but away from beach

Posted May 26, 2014
Great place. A little far from beach. The staff is exceptionally friendly. My girlfriend and I booked a last minute room here after camping for a week. Some stuff is a bit dated, but clean and nice. A warning though: there is an ammenities fee of $14 to use stuff like the tv, pool, etc. this wasn't included in our reservation from expedia. Just be aware of that. I think it was a bit shady to charge that fee for some very basic stuff, but it was a pleasant stay in the end. Would recommend the hotel.
