Perfect Location, Excellent BeachPosted Sep 14, 2014
Me and my wife stayed at the Sheraton Kauai Resort for our honeymoon the first week in August. This hotel truly has it all. The beach was perfect and you can swim and play all day. The pool and amenities are great too. The majority of the lounge chairs face the beach so there isn't really a bad view from anywhere. Lavas by the pool was great for drinks and lunch as well. A little expensive but worth it. Our room faced the ocean and was air conditioned which made it perfect. One recommendation on top of this hotel, is get a rental car. You can come and go as you please and truly experience the beauty of the island of Kauai.

Generally disappointing - poor value won't go backPosted Sep 13, 2014
Pros: Good maid service. Nice thoughtful anniversary complimentary wine / cokes, fruit dish. Nice helpful concierge. No follow-up on request to upgrade.
Cons: All the above items in our experience.
Location: Sightseeing by car or helicopter, gardens, Waimea Canyon, Fern Grotto, history of Kauai and Polynesian migration to Hawaii,
Generally disappointing for a Hawaiian resort. Paid less and got a lot more at Hyatt on Maui. Air conditioner died, had to change rooms. Tub didn't drain, sink took forever to get hot water, swimming pool setting was unappealing and stark for a Hawaiian resort, not enough shade. No shaded places around the grounds to just sit and enjoy the ocean or read. Room was just another typical crowded feeling mid class motel room in a remote building set back out of view of ocean with west facing patio with no shade.TV programming was cumbersome. Few activities or features for seniors. Very few if any "Nice touches", just the basics.

valet servicePosted Aug 28, 2014
Pros: the view. the double sinks. the staff. Betty at the front desk was wonderful.
Cons: valet service. travel desk support was not helpful or friendly. not making $, didn't want to be bothered. Concierge was wonderful.
the valet service was not up to the standard of this hotel. when I called from the room to have my car ready, it wasn't. the person who answered the phone didn't pass on the message to the valet. this happened twice. I called 40 minutes in advance because we had to catch a boat. the car was not there. when I finally got someone to go get my car, he brought the wrong car, and then he laughed...after I told him we might miss our boat. the valet said the misunderstanding was because there were 2 of us staying in the room with 2 different last names and the ticket had one last name and something else he was looking at had another. They had my room number and my license number. what difference does the last name make?? we didn't use the service after that. it was easier and faster to park ourselves. other than that, our stay was wonderful. Big commendations to Betty at the front desk. she was amazing.

Kauai SheratonPosted Aug 22, 2014
Pros: Location on the Island.
Cons: Maintenance resolution
Location: Na Pali Coast tour, surging, Waimea Canyon.
My overall experience was good. The hotel was what I expected and the beds were comfortable. I definitely recommend upgrading to the Deluxe Ocean View. It was worth every penny and the Ocean rooms are much nicer than the Garden rooms.

Beautiful hotel in excellent locationPosted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: The rooms are extremely comfortable, particularly the beds. Wonderful location right on the beach. Very clean facility and friendly staff.
Cons: The fitness center could be improved by replacing a few treadmills with other machines, like stair climbing machines. The rm service could be better.
Location: Excellent surf lessons, inviting beaches with lifeguards, nice area for walking or jogging. Brennecky's Restaurant and Bar offers a relaxed atmosphere
The first 5 days of our vacation were spent in a near by condo. Unfortunately 2 hurricanes were expected to hit the islands. We wanted to feel like we were in a place where an action plan was in place, generators and plenty of water, so we checked into the Sheridan. Lot's of Wow from the comfort, amenities. We were very impressed with the daily scheduled activities. Next time we will bypass the condo and book at the Sheridan. Our kids loved it.

Great Kauai ResortPosted Aug 11, 2014
Cons: Of course it's expensive.
Location: Go to Whalers for your supplies. Take a helicopter tour around Kauai. Go doors off, especially if prone to motion sickness. The air helps.
We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights our first time in Kauai. The location is great, the beach is great, the pool is great, the views are great. I'm not sure we could have had much of a better time.

Over all disapointedPosted Aug 11, 2014
The place is located in great place, over all the hotel is 3-4 star. But however the bellman and gestservice was a joke. It was humiliating the treatment from that we got from hotel staf. The staf is not even 1 star
