Great beach!

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Older hotel, somewhat dated, renovated not too long ago. Best part is their great beach, soft sand, few aquatic obstacles, lots of turtles! Hotel definitely needs to modernize its pool area. Food at resort very good, not great. Nonetheless, got a great deal for our room through AARP, and at that price would definitely stay there again without hesitation.

Great location on Poipu beach

Posted Nov 22, 2014
Pros: Location, right next to Poipu beach, walking distance to several other places, fire pits, pool, friendly staff
Cons: Update the garden view room carpet. A bit dated and dirty looking. They were painting the exterior of these rooms so maybe renovations are coming.
Location: Near many shops, restaurants, hotels and activities. Sits along a nice calm beach in Poipu (south shore). A 1.5 hour drive to either end of the island
My wife and I had a great time here. Despite several negative reviews of the garden view rooms, we experienced no issues. Rooms could use some updating but suited out needs just fine. Good size room, comfortable bed, mini fridge, free coffee/tea/bottled water daily. Garden view rooms aren't on the beach but it only takes a minute walk to get there, the ocean pool or one of the restaurants. The Sheraton is also within walking distance (or a short drive) to most places in Poipu and Koloa, including many of the other hotels, restaurants and shops. There's a local grocery store in Koloa town, which we visited to stock up on snacks for our day trips and hikes. We bought some tasty poke and sushi from there one night and ate near one of the fire pits for a relaxed & casual evening. Housekeeping was very friendly and provided us with replacement bottled water even when we didn't request service to our room. The free shuttle will drop off/pick up anywhere in Poipu during the day (until 10pm). The valet guys whoo also provide the shuttle service were friendly and provided us with great information. Tip: If you are looking for luxury accomodations because you plan on staying in your room all day, check out the Grand Hyatt (very nice but not walking distance from most things in Poipu). Otherwise the Sheraton should suit your needs just fine. If you can afford a room with an ocean view, go for it. But I wouldn't pay a lot extra just to be in one of the newer ocean side buildings.

Nice view of sunset

Posted Nov 21, 2014
It was good. We enjoyed it. The sinks would not hold water. That was the main problem. Otherwise it was very quiet and the balcony view was beautiful. The wireless internet was very sketchy. We had trouble communicating to the outside world. Thank you. The Staff was congenial too.

In need of update, rude staff

Posted Nov 16, 2014
Staff was rude and would not honor reserved room. Tried to put us across the street in a lower room. To say they were rude is an understatement. The room was tired and in need of an update. The halls were loud and house keeping was vacuuming at 7am waking us up every morning. Room was dirty, wish we paid a little more to stay somewhere else.

We stayed for a night here before meeting our family on another part of the the island for the rest of our vacation. Could not have been better! Restaurant was on site and the grounds were beautiful. The room and bed were very comfortable and we got a much needed good night's sleep.

Beautiful Oasis

Posted Nov 7, 2014
Arrived early and was able to get a room right away. We even got a free upgrade to a room with a view of the Pacific Ocean, partially obscured, but very cool! However, they don't tell me about the construction going on. The workers didn't start too early, which was nice. Everyone was beyond friendly. Eager to please!. We spent a week there, I'd do it again.
