    “Quite nice”

Location and room/amenities are great. Pool is quite good and grounds quite nice. Couple minor things: doors can use some new paint and PLEASE, put a bigger salter in the room! Bathroom was awesome :)

“Best Family Hotel I've ever seen”

I usually don't waste my time writing review, but we have been so amazed by this hotel that I just want to say that if you are with kids, this hotel is just perfect. Rooms are actually apartments because they are huge: 2 large bedrooms with 2 bathrooms, huge leaving room with sofa bed, wide kitchen fully equipped (including washing machine and dryer!!), and they provide trash bags, dishwasher powder, etc. Plus, room service every day, with linen changed every two days. Outside: bbqs, jacuzzis in front of the rooms, so that you can have kids sleeping while enjoying your dinner outside. In between two great beaches at walking distance, especially the Poipu beach which is just perfect for kids (including a playground on the grass behind the beach). Baby crib free. The staff was really nice and helpful. Kauai is a wondderful island, and Point at Poipu is simply the best place we have been with our family.

“And fun was had by all!”

Our experience at The Point at Poipu was very positive. There were only a few little issues that we noticed. 1. Due to the staff being "extra busy" with check outs on the saturday we were there they gave us a notices stating they would only being doing trash and towel pick up, no cleaning. We were fin with this excpet that they did not even pick up the trash or towels and no communication about it. 2. Be aware that you will have roaches and sugar ants as visitorsdo not throw out food garbage right rather quickly. And keep all uncealed or open food containers in the kitchen. This is something that guests should be made aware of. I now know that in a tropical climate you pretty much cannot avoid these creatures but it helps to know ahead of time how to deal with it. 3. The Lagoon pool is stunning and we were almost the only people in it the 2 times that we had a chance to swim. Wear flip flops or "slippers" as the locals call them. The sand around the pool area is very course on the wimpy feet of the vacationer. 5. The Beds were comfortable! YAY! I am very picky about beds and I slept well in these! 6. We read a few complaint reviews about the rooms being too far from the parking lots or too far from the pool. We found that it was all pretty easy access and if you do have to walk, the grounds are astoundingly beautiful with plants, flowers, Koi Ponds and lots of birds!

    Area recommendations
Poipu was very pretty and more of a leisure Resort style comfortable and family friendly. The next time I come to Kauai I will stay on the other end of the Island in Hanalei Bay. The little town was charming with lots to do, see, eat all at a walking distance. The beaches were beautiful and not crowded and the places to stay were smaller and more intimate.

    “Excellent location”

This is a great hotel with air conditioning which was a must have for us. the location is really good for all kinds of amenities on the island. Central location, great snorkeling, shopping, and pool area. the only drawback was that it has a 10 pm quiet time which was not enforced. We had a couple noisy nights in the early am's.

    “Good but not great”

Need to know that this is a time-share resort. They will deftly slide you into a presentation/sales pitch unless you actively avoid it. This almost spoiled our vacation. Rooms are nice, great living room sleeper sofa, but air conditioning only in the bedrooms. Can hear people on floor above walking around but didn't affect our sleep. Shower is fantastic: great water pressure and HOT. Kitchen is very small but nice. TV is new LCD but you can't rent movies. In room internet costs $10 a day, free in lobby. Cleaning service was great; polite, attentive, flexible. Washer & dryer in room was a godsend. Grounds are beautiful. Pool is absolutely perfect for 12 and under (it's shallow), and very enjoyable to relax at. Our kids liked the daily poolside activities and my wife liked the poolside drinks =). Hot tub is large and heat is perfect. We loved the location. The rest of the island was in perpetual rain, and we enjoyed mostly sun during our week there. Five minute drive to Poipu beach, which has great snorkeling, swimming, and boogie boarding. We snorkeled with turtles almost every day. We had a good trip and really enjoyed the island. The resort was good but not outstanding. We would return if the price was right.

    Must see
Kayak trip up the Waimea River and hike to water fall is a must--best thing we did. Several tour groups will take you there. It does not disappoint!
    Shopping
Living Foods has the best coffee/lattes we could find, and the most amazing cinnabuns! We made a trip every morning and relaxed on their deck while we planned our day. Everything is natural and made right there. It's a gem and only 5 mins away.
    Dining
Absolutely the best place we ate at was Kalaheo Cafe & Coffee Co., near Port Allen. Just amazing food, and very reasonably priced. Can't recommend it enough! Gluten-Free friendly as well.

“very convenient for families, the pool was great !”

We went with our 3 boys (2, 4 and 6 years old). We found the hotel very convenient for families, the rooms were spacious, the children loved the pool and the parents could even have a cocktail (with alcool) in the bar. The location is very good for visiting the island, but you need a car in Kawai.

    “WONDERFUL!”

Great vacation in Poipu area! Loved The POINT, a very nice property. Pool and grounds beautiful, room very very nice. The only down part is the beach is several hundred yards away, but not every hotel can be built on the beach. However, there is a rocky cove with a large family of sea turtles that we spent hours watching, amazing! Highly recommend this property. They offerred us the time share presentation and we declined and never heard from them again about it. We'd return to this property. The food at the pool not the best, but the drinks are way cheaper then the nearby Hyatt!

    “Can't wait to return”

Great condo community! Roomy condo with a full kitchen and couch that opens up to a bed. Beds and pillows are pretty firm. I'd prefer some feather pillows and softer beds. The pool is nice. Internet is free in the lobby. The room and pool were pretty quiet and relaxing. My only complaint is the condo community is not beach front. However, it's a short walk or drive to the beach. I would definitely recommend this place and would stay here again!
