“So happy we stayed!”
So this was a clandestine, one night stay for my husbands birthday. I booked with Expedia and because it is expensive to stay (but well worth it) I picked the least expensive room with garden views on the backside of the hotel. I was very pleasantly surprised when the front desk checked us in and put us in an ocean view room for no extra cost and without me asking! How cool and unexpected! The service was awesome, the interior impeccable and the beach lovely. Only thing they could change is the exterior, looking up from the beach the hotel looks a bit dated (can't be helped since it was built circa 1969). Otherwise, fabulous time and wish we could have stayed longer!
“Very Nice!”
We were immediately upgraded to a suite with butler service. The room was beautiful with an awesome view of the water! The service was fantastic except for a few minor things. We had to take 3 elevators to get to the pool/beach area and I felt like I was in the the twilight zone for the first three days then I finally got it. With us being in the timezone for the mainland we were tired early and needed to call a few times for turndown service. Also to clean our room we needed to call as we went to the beach in the morning and came up at 12:30 pm and it still had not been cleaned, so I needed to call them. The hotel is very, very nice but we will probably never return to Princeville as the rain really bothered my husband. One day it just poured as we were lying out at the pool. That area has one of the wetest parts in the world and it doesn't really matter what time of the year that you go you will get some rain.
“Best Resort on The Island”
My wife and I went here on our honeymoon and we would highly recommend this place. The location of the resort and ammenities were amazing. The resort staff is very nice and will help fufill any needs you have. The reef right off of the resort beach is great for snorkeling and is very secluded. We enjoyed the buffet style breakfast each morning overlooking the ocean and island. If you love to golf the princeville course will impress and challenge your game all at the same time. I would highly recommend this resort if your looking for that non-touristy resort that is secluded.
“Going back in January to get married”
Amazing, amazing, amazing! My wife and I had heard only good things about this hotel and they didn't disappoint. A spectacular sunrise and a breathtaking sunset. You pay for the location so why not take full advantage of it. Start your day at 6am and you won't regret it. Watch the early surfers with a nice latte on the terrace. Like most of the reviews before us, we found the food and drink in the hotel very overpriced. Only a 5 minute drive to town so this wasn't a problem. We ate there most nights. If you haven't experienced Kauai yet make sure your first time is special. Stay at the St. Regis Princeville! You won't regret it!
“Awesome.... the most beautiful place in Kuai”
From the jaw dropping lobby to the great St. Regis Bar, I definitely will go again. My only negative comment is that the pillows are friggin huge. And, theres 8 of these huge things on your bed.
“Prince Jr. Suite”
Amazing view, location and staff!
“Above and beyond employees.”
Should be a 10 star hotel. All of the employees were top notch. I have nothing but praise for all of them. I canot say enough about the quality of each one. This hotel was beautiful. The location was great. I had such a relaxing time. Can't wait to go back someday.
“Best the North Shore has to offer.”
Outstanding service. Most impressive service from pull up to check out I've experienced at any hotel. It is quite expensive both to stay here and to eat on the property. That was the biggest detterent staying here. And it's location means there are not a lot of other options around. We LOVED Kaua'i Grill on the property for dinner. Other options were good but not GREAT and were quite pricey. Impressive location on the North Shore. I'd definitely stay here again. I stayed here a few days then on the South Shore a few days. I'd highly recommend the same agenda for anyone visiting this island.
“A beautiful setting!”
I had a great vacation at the St Regis Princeville. The hotel staff could not have been more pleasant, courteous and service oriented—they truly care about customer service! The actual property itself, pool, beaches and interior of the hotel are quite nice. And you can not find a better view of the Na Pali coast. Of all the Hawaiian islands I have visited (Oahu, Maui and Kauai) this is by far my favorite.
“"Attention to every possible detail"”
It would have been impossible not to fall in love with Princeville because of the St. Regis. It is sited in the most beautiful spot possible on the North Shore and the room had every amenity, from the bathroom's window that could be turned clear for the view or frosted for privacy, to an extraordinarily comfortable bed. Also of note is that the hotel is one of the quietest I've ever stayed in. Though the hotel was crowded, I hardly heard a thing once our room door was closed. It's the staff makes the hotel, in my opinion. The concierges answered every one of our requests accurately and politely, and the valets and pool attendants knew our names by the second day of our stay. One had the feeling that every person who made eye contact with us was ready to attend to us if we spoke up; yet they were not at all intrusive and respected our privacy always. The food was very good, though perhaps a bit overdone, but if you have a car rental, it's easy to drive to Hanalei for a simpler meal.
