Ramada in Kearney, NE

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: Location
Cons: House keeping
Location: The Big Apple fun plaza was within a couple blocks.
The caulking around the tub/shower was turning black in places. A used tooth pick was under the heating/cooling unit. The bed and pillows were terribly uncomfortable.

Very clean and comfortable. So quiet, which was much appreciated after a long drive. The breakfast buffet was excellent!

Old motel, very well maintained with a great staff

Posted Sep 30, 2014
Pros: The people make the greatest difference. The all had a great attitude. It felt like they wanted us there - that is not always true of motel staff.
Cons: The back building; "F" door has handicapped parking on the side with a curb. Those spaces should be on the other side of the building.
Location: We went to the arch museum and little else. We came to relax and we did that at the motel.
We checked in late on a Friday night and the clerk helped us find the right room (physical limitations). He was pleasant and efficient. Bfast was fantastic; loved the omelettes. Pool area was very nice. The hottub is missing some tiles. The entire facility shows signs of age but has been maintained in excellent condition. We'll be back!!!

Location: Just off I-80. Good restaurant a short walk away.
Breakfast was outstanding! Made-to-order eggs and omelets were wonderful! Entire staff was helpful and friendly.

New Paint Doesn't Cover Up Core Problems

Posted Sep 11, 2014
Pros: The breakfast chief was very friendly and service oriented.
Cons: Repair all doors so they work, ensure maintenance staff have all the tools and training they need to perform timely routine repairs.
Will not stay here again. The outer hotel door had a card reader but no latch to lock the door. Anyone could enter the hotel. The first room we were assigned had a maintenance person working in it and wasn't available. The room keys for the next room we were assigned did not work. Went back to the desk and they reprogrammed the keys but they too did not work. Finally the staff reprogrammed the keys again and escorted us to the room but lead us to a second door to the room never trying the door we were not able to enter. This door worked. Went to breakfast the next morning and could not get into the room through either door. Again the staff gave me reprogrammed keys which did not work. Maintenance did not have the proper tools to repair the electronic door lock nor did they know how to use some of the tools they did have. Our departure was delayed 1 1/2 hours trying to get back into our room. Also, the hotel smelled musty and stale.

Disappointed - no elevator

Posted Aug 28, 2014
Cons: Elevators.
This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel. I forgot about the stairs problem... they have no elevator, so you must lug your heavy bags up a flight of 1960s style stairs enclosed in a hot hallway. I think at the very least they should offer to help with your bags upon check in. Otherwise, it was comfortable enough, and quiet.

The hotel is run down and in need of a remodel. The halls were hot and humid.

Unbelievably Run Down

Posted Aug 6, 2014
Pros: Breakfast cook/staff person
Cons: Needs massive rennovation
This hotel needs painting replaced rugs and on and on and on. The front desk clerk struggled to get my reservation because I had booked through expedia. The only bright spot was the breakfast staff person who made omelets, kept the vast selection of breakfast selections (included things like French toast, cottage cheese, canned peaches, etc), cleared the tables, checked in on guests, an cleared tables,

Better than expected

Posted Aug 3, 2014
Pros: Fresh fruit (cut up) at breakfast time, which went nicely with my cold cereal.
Location: Several good restaurants nearby. Kearney has a lot of recreational activities, but we were merely passing through.

Hotel is in need of updates as it is getting a bit worn. Numerous bugs running around pool area floor. Breakfast was really good however with made to order eggs.
