25 miles (40 kilometers) to the west of Mayo, is Keel, a popular spot for visitors wishing to discover more of the region. This popular part of town is about 50 miles (80 kilometers) from Ireland West Airport.

Many of Mayo’s highlights are near to Keel, so it is a smart choice as a place to base yourself during your visit. Two of the most popular attractions here are the fascinating Achill Island Golf Club and the remarkable Keel Beach. And don’t miss Deserted Village and Slievemore.

Do try to see some of the nearby museums and galleries, which help make the area such a unique vacation destination. Join a tour, admire the interior of the building or simply enjoy the beautiful displays at the Ionad Deirbhile Heritage Centre in Aughleam.
