“Conveniently located”

The hotel was packed as we were there for the Labor Day weekend. The bar was a bit noisy one night but otherwise all was OK. The room was clean and spacious. They offered a cooked breakfast and there was plenty. It was complimentary, too. We were disappointed with one aspect of housekeeping. The bedspread was pulled up over the sheets each day but the sheets had not been straightened underneath. This happened 3 nights in a row! Perhaps the staff were under pressure with the hotel being fully booked. Coffee in the sitting room was lukewarm and stewed. Overall, the hotel was oK and we would probably stay there again if in the area.

“Nice place to stay”

Really enjoyed our stay there, the Breakfast crew was awesome! They were very nice, talkative, and very helpful. The breakfast was really good and our teenage boys eat well. Rooms very comfortable and curtains did a fairly good job of keeping out the midnight sun. Still needed some duct tape to block out the light. We found it difficult to sleep due to our inexperience with the Alaska "night time."

“Great value”

Staff was friendly, helpful and accomodating. Room was clean and comfortable. Would have liked an elevator though.

“Rustic comfort”

We have no complaints, this hotel was very satisfactory in all ways and if I ever return to Homer, I'd be happy to stay here. The breakfast was the biggest spread we had during the whole trip, and the large dining room with a gorgeous view of the bay and mountains, was a delight. Considering Alaskan prices, it was a good value.

“Perfectly acceptable, nice people”

We rarely spend alot of time in our hotel room while traveling. This is a middle of the road hotel, which is what we were looking for. It is located in a town (Homer, AK) that appears to have one "top-notch" (and expensive) hotel, a few middle-roaders, and a number of lower-levels. We were able to walk to the "old town" area and post office along a highway with sidewalk, but the hotel is not near many quaint shops, restaurants. I marked the condition down because when we were there the roof was being repaired/replaced, which resulted in alot of banging until after 5 p.m.. I marked the "overall" item down because we prefer a hotel with interior hall entries into rooms - all rooms in this hotel open onto an exterior walkway. Also, we don't mind using stairs, but we like an elevator to get luggage up ... I didn't see one for our 2nd floor room. The staff in the office and the breakfast room were exceptionally pleasant.
