We visited the Punchbowl in May and stopped off on our journey up to the lakes. The pub is lovely, welcoming and homely. The meals were very good, in particular the cooked breakfasts were excellent. The rooms are lovely fitted with all modern amenities and nice finishing touches like a bar of Kendal mint cake, free bottles of water at your bedside and a cookie jar in your room filled with biscuits to eat with your cup of tea or coffee. In all an excellent place to stay and we will definitely be returning. I have no hesitation in recommending this place.

Excellent comfortable and clean room with brilliant full Engish breakfasts, Stuart the owner recommended the local Pub for evening meals and arranged a lovely table for us with the staff at the Strickland Arms who made us very welcome.
We would stay again next time we are in that part of the country.

Stayed overnight travelling home from the south of England. Had had a meal here several years ago and wanted to return.
Staff really friendly and efficient, food delicious and ales excellent.
Rooms very comfortable. Our room had a lovely view out over the river and hills.
Excellent accommodation for discerning walkers and cyclists and the inn is nicely situated just outside the busy National Park area so it doesn't get so busy with traffic etc., but is an excellent starting point for anywhere in the Lake District.
Hope to return again.
