"Perfect location"
last minute decision to visit canterbury for the weekend, we didn't have much time to look around for hotels online so booked the abode as it seemed quite Central, and it really is in the middle of the town! Couldn't be better placed, the staff are all polite and professional, hotel is very nicely decorated with an upmarket feel, would book again if I visited canterbury in the future.

"Good time at the Duke"
On arrival immediatley made to feel welcome by the staff who were all friendly and helpful for the length of our stay, we were allowed to settle and get a drink or two before being shown to our room. The room was small but clean and enough for two people, lovely clean bathroom and good working shower. They had kindly reserved a table for us to eat for the evening which they do for all guests so no worries about food. The food itself was by and large locally sourced and was very good ( have been to plenty of inns in the past and this was at the top as far as taste concerned, enough to thank the chef). Had a very enjoyable evening itself in the bar good ales and the locals were very welcoming, enough to be one of the last to leave. Sleep wise both had a good nights sleep, maybe one or two noises through the night (fans or air conditioning) but nothing to spoil your slumber. Breakfast in the morning was good and plentiful and no rush to pay your bill or leave, all very relaxed. So overall I would recommend a visit to a lovely kentish village and a wonderful Inn (we both shall return again).

"Very relaxing"
We have stayed in this hotel about 10 times and it never disappoints. Excellent value for money bearing in mind that it's only 2 miles from the town. Price included full English breakfast plus full use of the gym, pool etc. There's a really nice river side walk to maidstone which takes about 30-40 minutes.

"Nice hotel, easy walk to centre of Canterbury"
Very friendly staff. The room was lovely and looked as if it had been recently refurbished. A 'help yourself' breakfast was a great idea as we could eat when we wanted to.

"Within walking distance of town centre"
This is an old hotel and could do with a lick of paint in places. We chose it for its excellent location and proximity to the Stag theatre. Our room was small and cosy and fine for one night. Worst aspects were thin walls and no hot water in the morning. We were kept awake by someone snoring and woken early by what sounded like furniture being moved above us. I feel hotels should do as they do in the US and deduct a small amount from the bill for inconvenience.
