Hotel overpriced and living on reputation

Pros: The bed. The restaurant.
Cons: The room size and state of maintenance. The bar.
Location: Lovely building, shame about Tunbridge Wells surrounding it
As a restaurant, Hotel Du Vin is excellent and I would return. As a hotel, it was far less than I expected for the price. We couldn't check in until 3PM because the rooms were not ready, and the lobby was completely taken over by a wedding reception. We couldn't park at the hotel and were not given good advice about where to find a public car park. The public car park we were directed to, opposite the hotel, is not a 24hr car park and you'd have to move the car at 8 the next morning. The room was small and extremely hot, with no way of controlling the temperature because the thermostat on the radiatior was broken (we had to call the maintenance manager out twice). There is no double glazing, so you can't open the window because of traffic noise. Some of the bathroom fittings were broken and the bathroom was very narrow, even for slim people. The bar was disappointing if you like to relax with a beer. They don't sell draught and bottles are £4.50 minimum. On the plus side, the bath, shower and bed were high quality. Oh, and internet access... they give you one hour for free, then you have to pay! What's that about in this day and age, in a quality hotel?
