Very helpful staffPosted Dec 15, 2014
Besides providing a clean, comfortable room, the staff was very helpful by taking us to nearby restaurants and also allowing us to keep our fish in their freezer for several hours after we checked out so that it would not thaw during the period we were waiting for our plane.

A good place to stayPosted Aug 21, 2014 on Hotels.com
There is nothing fancy about this place. There was also nothing wrong with it, except a well used bed that had a sag in one spot. The room was clean and comfortable, and in good repair, even details like the caulk in the bathroom (something I frequently see neglected in hotels.) When we arrived, it was raining heavily (a frequent event in Ketchikan) and the room was dry and warm. During the week, it was sunny and the room was comfortable and warm (no AC, but you open the screened sliding door and it is comfortable. They have a box fan in the room for those times when the air needs some encouragement to circulate, but we just opened the two doors and the room cooled off quickly. The restaurant was nice with a fairly broad menu.

Hotel owner/front desk person was not sober. Other guests, including us waited forever for her to check in/out.

We had no idea where to stay when we thought about going to Ketchikan so we just picked The Narrows Inn. WOW!! The entire staff made us feel like family from the time we walked through the door. And I mean EVERYONE. From the office staff to the cleaning staff. The restaurant is Wonderful!!!. Every meal was delicious!! I definitely recommend this place!!

Would stay there againPosted Aug 4, 2014
Pros: Close to downtown and ferry and Walmart. Shuttle available as needed. Free wifi.
Cons: A good clean up/painting-varnishing/trimming of landscaping/remodel-updating of bed linens/curtains/décor.
Location: Everything Alaska has to offer but do book early as you are competing with 4 cruise ships each day May-Sept.
The Narrows Inn shuttle picked us up at the ferry landing as soon as we stepped off the ferry. Inn is very close to the ferry which is nice. Inn is good and we will probably stay there the next time we're in KTN as it seems to be the best that is available. Staff is great. Breakfast in the office is adequate. Rooms are small but what you need. Restaurant is ok and serves 3 meals a day which is convenient. As an FYI, the season in KTN is May thru Sept. which is why food and housing are expensive as compared to the lower 48 for similar.

Pros: Location, quiet, friendly, clean and very helpful staff.
Location: Within walking distance of Wal-Mart. Great view of the ocean.
We had a great experience! We have stayed here many times over the years and have never had a problem.

Very Friendly StaffPosted Jul 27, 2014 on Hotels.com
From the reservation manager to the shuttle driver, the staff at the Narrows is amazing! We were made to feel like family. The hotel is a little ways from the townsite but the shuttle made it work just fine.

Not the best!Posted Jul 15, 2014
Cons: Check in and communication
Location: Poor location. Nothing within walking distance
Many many problems with check in. Staff communication problems on a daily basis. Very small room. Noisy due to location on inlet and seaplanes plus proximity to airport. Far away from anything and problems with the hotel shuttle not picking you up as asked.Expensive and not so good restaurant. Would defiantly not stay again

Great water views!Posted Jul 7, 2014
Pros: The hotel staff was friendly and accommodating.
Cons: I could only wish that every room could have a water view, but if you're not so lucky just wander down to the dock!
Location: I would highly recommend the Southeast Alaska Discovery Center. A joint effort by state and national organizations, well worth the time!
The Narrows is a great place to enjoy your stay in Ketchikan. The restaurant on site had some of the best food we had in town and the view of the channel and airport from the windows made it like dinner and a show! We saw whales, porpoises, cruise ships, and float planes all during the space of one meal. Our room was clean and tidy, the staff went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. I would definitely recommend the Narrows to friends!
