Nice hotel, clean & comfortable.

Posted Mar 29, 2015
Pros: Clean with comfortable beds.
Cons: Breakfast at cafe by the pool was disgusting.
Only spent two nights, but the stairs to the 2nd floor suites were a bit much for my knees. I wish someone had warned me so I could have gotten a ground floor room.

Two nights in Key West

Posted Mar 21, 2015
Pros: Rooms were large and quiet.
Cons: Food service in tiki bar, a kid free pool area and a hot tub would be nice. Free shuttle to downtown area would also be a great addition.
Location: Drug store and grocery store across the street, as well as Five Guys, which has incredible casual food. Need vehicle to visit most points of interest
This is a very expensive place to stay but on par with other properties considering amenities, comfort, etc. One of the few places that had two bedroom, two bath accommodations that we needed. Four pools and lots of lounge chairs but pools are all fairly small. There is a tiki bar at one of the pools and it would have been nice to have it a kid free zone so you could truly relax. The servers do make rounds of at least one other pool so you could still have a beverage and watch your children in another pool. Food served from the tiki bar was delicious and reasonably priced. However, automatic gratuity of 15% added to the bill may have contributed to the slow service we encountered. We normally tip 20% for anything above the average, and did not feel the service justified us adding to the tip. It was not bad, just painfully slow :-) In room Wi-fi worked great and we were just minutes from crazy downtown Key West. A free shuttle to downtown 3-4 times a day would have been nice touch. Would certainly recommend the property and would stay there again.

Very home-y and pleasant to be in.

I had a fantastic stay at this hotel, right up until it was time to check out and I was hassled beyond necessary reason for a simple $35 food tab from the restaurant. I understand, the card on file didn't go through (it happens, I'm on vacation, my card's fraud alerts go up). Well when it was time to check out and the receptionist notified me of my balance due, I made a point to quickly head to the lobby to handle my balance... I had a $100 bill which apparently wasn't good enough because for some reason the receptionist at the time had "no bank." Ok, I understand. What really got me riled up was when she implied that I go find change or provide her with exact change. I couldn't believe that I was being asked by a hotel receptionist and resort lobbyist to go out of my way to provide her with something that as a business, she failed to ask or have provided for her. She stood there making it seem as if me not walking around carrying $35 in exact change was an issue of my own. I must have missed the memo where a $100 bill is more than an acceptable means of payment. Conclusively, I paid upwards of $850 to stay here for 2 nights, and although every prior to that had done a fantastic job of treating me as a valued guest, I won't even consider booking here or having any of my future business or personal trips be booked here. Not at the expense of being put in a situation like that again.

Love the vibe of this place! Cannot wait to come back here, God willing! Now, having said that, I realize that things are quite laid back. However, there ended up being a bit of a mix up on our sunset tour or lack there of. Ended up costing us a cab ride back to parrot key but, got some really great tips on some restaraunts from the cabbie. So, no worries.

Disappointing

Posted Mar 15, 2015
Pros: Nothing special
My family lived in this hotel for 3 nights. But we feel disappointed. Firstly, it is far away from the old town. You have to drive wherever you go. Secondly the room facilities are old, and bed is bad. The room is also not clean, and housekeeper did not do their jobs. The view of room is not the face of sea, but a small canal. The swimming pool look like good, but it is cold and you cannot stay inside for a long time. In one word, it is not worth its price. I would recommend anyone to live there.

Retired on Friday, Parrot Key on Monday

Posted Mar 1, 2015
Pros: The 4 private pool areas. Tall hedges and art made quite restful spaces, more private pools than the usual noisy "bodies on display" hotel pool.
Location: Key West in Feb can't be beat. Plenty wild life of both kinds, man and nature. Just walking around is fun.
Left the federal government after 35 years, needed a fast getaway to recover from the good byes and cold weather in DC. Parrot Keys fit the bill. Quite, beautifully landscaped, charming decor. We had breakfast at the pool side cafe every morning. Parrot Keys resort was easy to access, rental jet skis and bikes on site was a plus. Staff was great! Key West has much history, drag queens, beautiful sunsets, unique architecture, art galleys, great dinning, tacky tourism, but never frost! What's not to like?
