“Would go back”

Very comfortable, service excellent, staff helpful nothing too much trouble.

Mostly Germans seem to stay here, but dont let this put you off, the road is a bit noisy at night, but the beach and food make up for any down side, the evening entertaining is a bit 'it aint half hot mum' but the bar is very good. Food is fantastic, go half board you wont need lunch. Not much to do outside of the hotel, Georgopolis is OK but not worth more than a token visit.

“Arrived tense departed relaxed”

Arrived tired and irritable early in the morning Desk Staff organised early entry to our room. Our initial impression was slight disappointment on location remote from the pool and beach. However we grew to like the view and privacy of a more secluded sitting out area. Target Audience mainly German, Swiss and Italian, and young families (excellent organised childrens activities), do not go if you object to children from breakfast to midnight. No travel or tour guides in English at the activity desks can feel a bit isolated if English is your only language. The Resort Restaurants were clean and pleasant but did appear to feature mainly German menus with a few Greek dishes as an afterthought. In our opinion Cretan 5 Star equates to US or UK 4 Star.

“Disappointing”

Disappointing. The hotel complex is huge and there is no personal feeling within it. I had to catch a ridiculous 140Euro taxi to and from the airport (adding nearly 300Euro to my holiday before I even got there) as the hotel was about an hour away with no easy options for public transport but had no forewarning of this at time of booking (thanks Expedia!!!!). Having said that the staff at reception at the hotel were wonderful and extremely helpful and were genuinely embarrassed that my room was only cleaned once in three days for no obvious reason(there are only two english tv channels). The pool on the beach is by far the best although it was lovely and windy while I was there as we had no sun but instead gales! I would definitely pop outside the resort and go and explore the island even if it is just down to the local village. Personally I will never return to this hotel, nor would I reccomend it to someone looking for a holiday in Crete.
