Great Hotel and service!!!

“Aurora Hotel in Kharkov”

I was very pleasantly surprised with the Aurora Hotel in Kharkov. I expected it to be a four star hotel in name only. However, the staff was exceedingly polite, spoke English, humored my attempts to speak Russian, helped look up railroad connections, and made sure I knew where I was heading when I left the hotel. The rooms were immaculate, the bathrooms had all the hot water you could want, and the beds were very comfortable. This is essentially a western hotel at eastern Ukrainian prices. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Very clean hotel within the city. Very nice restaurant on the second floor. Staff were very helpful. Will consider staying on this hotel again.

The hotel room I stayed in was very well kept, clean with immediate hot water response and nice cozy shower. Breakfast was good and dinner also good, albeit on the expensive side, compared to other good restaurants in Kharkov. The only seriously negative comment is that one of a staff member at the reception; when asked for the taxi fee to the airport he quoted to me -with a straight face- 250 grivnas. I told him it cost me 100 grivnas from the airport to the hotel and he then complied to this price. Next morning the taxi I ordered was quoted as 51 grivnas by another staff member!! This really compromised the trust in the staff, and therefore, my stay. For this reason I give it a max of 4.
