“Kiev is a wonderful city, and the hotel accomodations made it even nicer!”
Lived in Kiev for a couple of years, and returned for a quick visit. The Premier Palace, Kiev's only 5 Star was just the ticket to make the visit complete. While other hotels in the area are newer, I wanted the old school luxury that only the Premier could offer. Beautiful furnishings, natural woods and stone, and beautiful carpets. Much better for relaxing than being surrounded by stainless steel and modern glass walls. The room was very comfortable, even for a "standard" room. The staff was more than pleasant. Breakfast buffet was EXCELLENT! Definitely visit the indoor spa/pool/jaccuzzi for relaxation.
“Overpriced but still worth it”
Difficult to find decent selection in Kiev. The Premier is a decent option
“A good hotel, conveniently located.”
I would stay here again. Nicely maintained and newly renovated property. Friendly, accommodating staff. Nice restaurant on the top floor with good food. The only thing I would change is there's no TV channel choice offered in the health club. You can't even turn MTV off, even when exercising alone!
“A good, not excellent 5 star hotel”
I have visited Premier sevral times the last 3-4 years. The hotel is very well maintained and the rooms are comfortable and clean. Service of rooms is very good; reception service has improved. The only service which is still not up to 5-star standards is at the 8th floor restaurant; waiting service is slow, unorganized; several mornings I had to get up from my table to ask for someone to provide coffee. Something especially annoying is the ventilation which is practically non-existent; the result is that when they make omeletes for the breakfast guests all the restaurant smells fried oil; all this smell goes to hair and clothes of guests. Also: the is absolutely no bar service to be found at the pool. Either place a person there or close it down.

The hotel itself is very nice, the girls at the reseption are nice and helpful but if you go to the bar for a drink( specialy if you are a young girl), the waitresses don't treat you appropriate.

Very good hotel for a very high price
“Everything seems to be excellent, but...”
New, clean hotel, good service, good location. But there are some things that make strange impression. The room was clean and spacious but almost empty with very small TV (but the bathroom was excellent). And staff without any smile - but this is quite common thing in former-SU cities. About the price: extremely high for Ukraine. Unfotunately in Kiev you have a poor choice: quality hotel for awful price or something ugly but almost for free :-)
“Happy In Kiev”
I arrived at the hotel in the early evening and the staff out front was very quick to attend to my luggage. The front desk staff spoke good enough English to make the check in process very smooth. The room was well appointed and had many amenties that one would expect from a hotel of this class and from what I heard. The morning breakfast buffet was excellent with a full variety of many choices. My staff lasted 5 days and on the third day they upgraded me to a room on the exectuive floor and no additional charge. Not sure if was because I extended my stay and they needed my original room or they were just upgrading me. In any case it was a welcome change and they even offered to pack my luggage for me. The bar in the hotel was open all night as well.I would recomment this hotel to the most discerning traveler and would certainly stay there again.
“They need to train their people in serving at the 5 star level”
The hotel is a 5 star destination. As such it represents a brand --and a commensurate cost-- that creates expectations to the traveller frquenting such destinations that must be similar to 5 star hotels anywhere. Premier has come a long way from the years past in accomodations. However, the service is still lurking somewhere back in the 80's by European standards. The personnel are still trying to serve the system and not the customer, creating conflicts or a downright perception to the client of indifference. E.g. at their newly decorated restaurant on the 8th floor I two times had to get up from my chair to find a waiter to bring coffee in the morning; in the night one of the waiteresses followed me till the elevator to inform me that the tip I left to be charged through my bill was not valid and I should give her a tip there and then :) Quite embarassing since I was not alone... The bell boy escorted me to a black Mercedes/taxi who asked for 250 grivnas to take my girlfriend to the airport only to have the reception tell me I had to pay 400 grivnas. When I asked the bell boy to come and explain to the reception what happened, he said he knew nothing about the matter :)
