Nice hotel

Posted Sep 14, 2014
Nice hotel; comfortable bed; water pressure in the shower could be stronger/heavier water flow; overall pleased with our 2 night stay. Pub food was good and reasonably priced.

Hotel Kilkenny

Posted Aug 27, 2014
Pros: ease of movement around hotel, main areas all on one level.
Cons: The artificial flowers are well past their best.
Location: Need a sign from main road to show entrance as very easy to miss if you do not know the area.
Good hotel, good welcome, good room, good bed----what more could you need!

Very relaxed atmosphere, staff, food etc all great

Posted Aug 23, 2014
Pros: While the hotel was reasonably busy during our stay it was still a relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: You need to bring your own lock to use lockers in pool so this could be better.
Location: Not much in the immediate vicinity but only a 10 minute walk to city center.
We were look for a few relaxing days away and got a good deal last minute. Hotel Kilkenny was exactly what we needed. The pool was great and the food lovely. Staff were very friendly.

A bit far from town, but charming

Posted Aug 16, 2014
Pros: Staff, decor
Cons: Sink in bathroom didn't drain well
Location: Kilkenny is a charming town, the Arts Festival in August has a lot of events but even other times of the year there's live music everywehere.
Being a ways from the city center (15 minute walk), there's not much nearby but this hotel has a kind of 1990's decorator feel to it, serves a good breakfast, and had a very helpful staff. Not airconditioned (though I understand that's not a usual need in Ireland), the manager was quick to provide a fan when we asked. Beds are quite firm, if that's the kind of mattress you prefer.

Hotel in Kilkenny.

Posted Aug 8, 2014
Pros: Nice room
Cons: I reserved a room with a balcony but it wasn't really a balcony at all. It was more of a sliding glass door with a railing so you don't fall out of t
Location: Kilkenny Castle and a nice city center with many entertainment/eating options.
The hotel was nice. It is about a 15 to 20 minute walk to city center or a cab ride is easy enough.
