Top class,And Great Staff

Posted Jan 6, 2014
Pros: The Staff, I stayed in a lot of places, And never had the quality of staff that this place has and the food was great too.
Cons: Nothing my experience was great.
Location: The location is right in the middle of Kilkenny Town walking distance from everything it actually better positioned then all the other hotels.
Dont be fooled the Zuni is a 5 star hotel without the price and with better staff. My experience here was fantastic to say the least. Me and my friend stay here at a very busy time of year new years eve and the day before. On arrival we noticed that the hotel is right bang in the middle of Kilkenny city the location really doesn't get any better then this. The staff, were the superior kind of staff that is really rare theses days. They really look after people and go the extra mile especially at breakfast and the reception staff are fantastic and helpful also. The rooms clean, spacious, quite and cosy not cold by any means the price is right. Would stay here again 110 percent YES i dont think id stay anywhere else in Kilkenny after staying in the Zuni.

Great Hotel

Posted Sep 29, 2013 on Hotels.com
The staff in this hotel are so accommodating and friendly, the cleanliness throughout is very evident. The hotel location is brilliant being so close to all the shopping streets, we would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone and would certainly have no hesitation in staying there again.

Nice hotel conveniently located.

Nice hotel with a restaurant on the ground floor. Room was nicely decorated but a little small. Unfortunately the sink in the bathroom was clogged and since we noticed that rather late (11:30PM) in the evening it wasn't fixed - the front desk did not pick up the phone when we called, which was annoying. There is free parking in the back of the hotel.

A very good experience

The hotel did not look much at arrival as we came along the street with the car, we drove in to the car park behind the hotel (had to leave the car for a minute at the gate, go in and ask them to open for us). The staff was very professional, friendly and service minded, we found the room to be... well... perfect, (except the bed that was a bit too hard for our liking, Staff was informed and I guess it have been replaced by now) all was in a very hi standard, warm and dry, (not as we experience on other hotels/B&B's around Ireland, cold and damp). We found that the traffic around the hotel was not disturbing at all, and that gave us a good night sleep as well. Location wise it could not be better, we found it to be at walking distance to everything (and we are not much for walking), and needed to say, Kilkenny as a town have a very medieval feeling in a good way (reminds a lot of our favorite town Visby in Sweden/Gotland, feel wise). Over all, one of the best experience we had in Ireland, both hotel and town wise.

Fabulous location and a comfortable stay

Posted Sep 10, 2012 on Hotels.com
The location couldn't have been better, just a few minutes walk to EVERYTHING. Downstairs had a fabulous restaurant that we ate at our first night, the food, the service, the wine, fantastic. Breakfast in the morning was very good, and the coffee was delicious. We would definitely stay here again.

Close to City

Posted Aug 20, 2012 on Hotels.com
Restaurant obviously is excellent, the staff tried very hard to be helpful and they all were very nice. We came for cultural events (not listed above: shame!) and enjoyed the city and the festival very much. We very much missed tea/coffee facilites in hotel room, which is standard in Ireland (early morning hot water wen need for diet reasons!) Room was too small. WC problem at start was better then, but not satisfactory until the end.

Great Restaurant, OK Hotel

Posted Aug 14, 2012
Pros: Wonderful restaurant downstairs. Good breakfast. Front desk personnel were very professional and helpful
Cons: For the price we paid, I was expecting more. Room and bath were very small, and bed wasn't that comfortable. Room was also very warm.
Location: Located in the heart of town.
The hotel was just ok. For the price we paid, I was expecting more. Probably would have been better not to go during the summer festival when everything was so crowded.

Worth a wee visit

Posted Jul 31, 2012
Pros: location, breakfast, minimalist decor
Cons: basic facilities - not even a bottle of water in the room
Location: very close to Castle and to best pubs
There is nothing all that wrong with this place - it's pretty basic in terms of the room but this is dressed up with a veneer of minimalist decor which conceals the fact that it is quite basic and functional. However, if you just want a room for the night, perhaps for a night out and are only using the room to sleep then if suits its purpose - however, it's not a relaxing luxurious place but this is reflected in the price. It is close to the castle and to nightlife and places to eat so it suited us. The place needs a lick of paint though and a little attention to detail cleaning wise as there were make up prints on the door of the bathroom. However, as I said it's functional. Interestingly, after we checked out I got a text from a local friend saying that we really should eat there and tripadvisor recommends it too - the breakfast in fairness was good and plentiful and the staff were efficient and friendly

Modern, chic and great location

Great location with an award winning restaurant made Zuni a great place to stay. It meant breakfasts werealso fabulous rather than the usual mass prepared offerings.Rooms were clean, modern and great facilities. On site parking. All around terrific value and will recommend for anyone coming to Kilkenny.
