“would not recommend”

This was my first stay in kingman az..i was not satisfied with the room overall.the faucet was leaking, there was a huge piece of duct tape in the tub covering up some damage or repair, shower head was to small, and hot water was scalding,had to put in almost to cold before it was satisfactory.window lock was broken, had to have front desk personnel come and put metal bars on the window to secure..front desk staff very very nice. didnt make up for the problems in the room though.

“Dirty room”

The staff were very nice and helpful. However, the room was gross: hair in bathroom, half a donut behind the TV, someone's receipt on the floor. Yuck!

“Skip the breakfast”

The room was fair for a one night stay over. I would not recommend an extended stay here. The owner was friendly and still up when we finally checked in (11pm). The room was decent, one of the beds was a bit harder than the other but still comfortable. Don't expect a good breakfast. Their idea of breakfast was prepackaged muffins and coffee. If you like eating a hot breakfast at the hotel this is not the place to stay. Their are quite a few places on the same strip that have much better fare.

Area recommendations

Kingman is a great place to stay over when traveling to LA or San Francisco. It is right off of IH 40 coming into Kingman. Andy Devine Rd (Route 66 actually) has a strip of hotels to choose from with a Big K (Kmart), McDonald's, and Flying J (a truck stop) right across the street.

Dining

If you have time to eat in Kingman you MUST go to Vito's Italian Restaurant. It is a little out of the way, but the small dining area and cozy atmosphere make it very comfortable and inviting. The food was first rate and the waitstaff delightful.

“Kingman”

It was pleasant, clean, comfortable, the desk clerk very polite and helpful. Our room also had a couch as well as refrigerator and microwave, which was appreciated. The bed was extremely firm.

“Totally Unimpressed”

Location was the only advantage to staying at this motel. Very run down. Won't stay at another EconoLodge. I would rather have spent more money, will not make that mistake again. When was the last time the corporate folks came by to inspect this property?

“Good cheap place, but only if you get one of the updated rooms...”

Very nice owner/operator, but he asked me to give him a good rating online! Place was perfect for me, but then again I did get an updated room. The outside of the joint was kind of run down, but my room was fine. No complaints.

“cheap but not great”

You get what you pay for here....very cheap rooms but dirty and old. Door didn't work well and was hard to get into room. Room was not very clean and did not feel comfortable using the hotel pillow or sheets. Pay the extra few bucks and stay at a quality inn...I wanted a cheap room but in retrospect would rather have had a nicer one for a little bit more money and not have had to use my sleeping bag instead of the hotel sheets. Staff were ok, location was ok, but there are plenty of other hotels around that likely are much nicer. It was pretty gross.

Near Grand Canyon! About 3 hours distant.
