From the moment that we arrived through to the time of our checkout all the staff were helpful, courteous and very likable. Even the guy tending to the plants said hello. A great welcome, a superb stay and a delightful village.

We booked the hotel on line as we were going to our Daughter-in-Law's 50th birthday in nearby Middleton. Not long after the booking was confirmed we received a telephone call to warn us that there was a beer festival taking place on the night of our stay. It wasn't likely to cause us any problems as we would not be back at the hotel until quite late. Nice touch warning us!

I would suggest not relying on your sat nag to find this farmhouse. Plus better signage at the road end & outside the lane would help. If it wasn't for the chap in the local shop I'd still be going round in circles in the dark!

Room (Courtenay) was nice and spacious and bed was comfortable - however there was no wardrobe and consequently very little hanging space. Bathroom, down some stairs, was similarly spacious with separate bath and shower. Area, in the middle of the Norfolk countryside, was nice and quiet. However, we booked this B&B partly because there was a swimming pool (pictured) and although we accepted that with the British weather, we might not be able to use it, we were surprised when given the welcome pack to see 'Swimming pool use only if requested when booking.' The pool was only half full and we couldn't have used it if we had wanted to. The description of the B&B also mentioned TV's in rooms - there was no TV in our room and although we had gone for a quiet break, the option to watch something (as the World Cup was on) would have been nice. For the price we paid we were disappointed. The room was very nice and the breakfast was fine but for that price it was only as expected. The hostess was OK.

Arrived just as Uruguay scored its first goal against England! Had the pleasure of a pint whilst enjoying the hospitality of the staff and cheering supporters. An experience I will remember fondly. Shame the result was not to thier liking but good humour and friendliness all round. Noise calmed down soon after I retired. Nice uninterrupted sleep. I would take this type of accommodation any day over a sanitised Holiday Inn.
