Quaint but nothing fancy.

Posted Aug 24, 2014
Pros: --location --the staff --the food --the history
Cons: --more modern updates to the rooms themselves
Location: --the River --quaint shops
Location, location, location. This hotel is definitely in the best location in Gananoque -- and is filled with history! However, there is nothing fancy about the accommodations. The beds were not really all that comfortable, either. The food was very good, and the hotel is definitely clean. The staff is awesome!

Pros: The location is great - it's very close to the river.
Cons: The breakfast service was a little slow.
We stayed in this hotel for one night and overall it was a very pleasant experience.

Beautoful location on the river. Groounds were well kept and very attractive. Great complimentary breakfast with delicious homemade muffins and made to order eggs. Room it self needed to be freshened up- one of the beds had torn sheet on it so that was a turn off.

Best spot in town

The hotel was in a magical position next to the lake with a superb restaurant overlooking the lake. What a place for dinner and breakfast. The only downside was the free continental breakfast was rather sparse, but this would not spoil your stay.

Family stay

Pros: The dock and view.
Cons: Food.
Location: Gorgeous
Restaurants staff were quite nice but service was very slow. Those bees were terrible as well. Breakfast were great but the two dinners we had were noy vrry good. The Best part pf the dinners were the fresh vegetables it the portions were quite small. Main menu could have been more kid friendly. The kids Menu wasnt good for my 9 and 11 yr old .

Did not find front desk staff very friendly. Tried to use internet in lobby a few times and it never worked, which was disappointing. Enjoyed meals we had in the dining rooms. Staff in there were very friendly and nice.

by the St Lawrence in Gananoque

Stayed in the water side units, nice room and a pleasant landscaped river side ambience, the main inn building looked a little shabby and could use some updates like a new lobby carpet. The on site restaurants were average, sevice fine but menu limited and presentation a little slapdash. Staff were friendly and helpful. Value wise, defintely too pricey for what it is.
