Pros: Highway convenience.
Cons: All the outdoor paint is peeling and worn.
Location: Wonderful downtown area with Plymouth Rock and other attractions.
Convenient to the highway but dated and not keep up at all. Very Smokey everywhere . Blanket had holes in it and our friends refused to stay in the room after they paid and checked in the drove home.

Nice Hotel

Posted Aug 12, 2014
The lady who checked us in was very kind. All nonsmoking standard rooms were taken when we checked in, so she upgraded us to a nonsmoking suite at no extra charge. The bed was clean, the bathroom was clean, but the main room when you walk in the suite was apparently not vacuumed or cleaned well. There was a clump of dirt and a bit more dirt in front of the couch and a dead flower bud (big) on the chair at the table. Everything else was great. I would talk to the cleaning staff.

Pros: nothing but the pleasant ladies at the front desk.
Cons: Replace carpets, shampoo won't even cut it. Place protecive covers on beds and pillows. Wipe down tables, remotes, phones, and removed moldy shower doo
Location: Plymouth Mass.
The staff was very nice and informative. However, we did not want a smoking room and we were put in a smoking wing. When we pulled up to the hotel, we thought we may have overpaid from the looks of the place. Upon arriving in the room, we were disgusted. The room was gross. We had two children with us and I would not allow them to touch anything in the room ( tv remote, alarm clock, strings to draw the drapes etc.) We all kept our shoes on and felt very uncomfortable to even brush our teeth in this room. We were exhausted from our day of traveling and being out in the sun for a few hours. It was 9pm and just wanted to go to bed. The pillows did not have any protectors on them, just the pillow itself with a stained pillowcase over it. The shower doors had mold on them.Although we were exhausted, my husband went to the front desk to complain. They upgraded us to a suite, although, we were previously told there were NO other rooms vacant when we expressed that we didn't want a smoking room. The suite was a little more updated and cleaner, but still, no mattress covers, pillow covers etc. The couch had a pull out bed which was not in good condition. At this point, being 10pm, we had no choice. The next morning, upon checking out, the front desk asked how our stay was and my husband once again expressed how UNsatisfied we were. They took $30 off of our bill. We still paid $100, after the $30 discount was taken, but the hotel was not worth even that amount. We will not be back!

Pleasant place to stay

Posted Aug 10, 2014
Pros: Indoor pool, jacuzzi and steam room
Cons: After using the indoor pool we did get lost trying to find our room, better directions are needed. Two of the washers were out of order leaving only one
Location: Great location right off highway 3, close to the Mayflower 2 and Plymouth Rock.
We needed a place to stay before we had to return our rental car in Boston but didn't want to stay in Boston. Plymouth Bay Inn & Suites was a pleasant surprise. Our suite was clean and spacious. We would stay there again.

Dirty, outdated and disorganized...

Posted Jul 28, 2014
Upon arrival the hotel staff was unable to locate a room for us due to a new staff member booking multiple parties to the same room. While the staff member helping us was friendly, she was certainly not knowledgeable about their systems and our entire check in experience lasted over 15 minutes, and we were the only ones being taken care of. When we got to our room we walked inside and were overwhelmed with the smell of cigarette smoke. We were not told this was a smoking room, and I am 4 months pregnant, which was unacceptable. They had no other rooms open and were unable to switch us. The room itself was small, outdated and dirty. The carpets were stained, the bedspread was old and pilled up, the blankets had holes. We had 2 pillows on the bed which were maybe 1 inch thick. There was a fridge and microwave which was nice, and the TV was old, small and had lines through the picture on each channel. The wallpaper was bubbled and peeling and the air conditioner barely made the room cool and smelled awful. The bathroom was even worse than the bed area. Grime all around the dated tub and glass sliding doors that appeared to have never been cleaned. The shower head had so much build up that when you turned it on the water sprayed in every direction except down where it should. Never again would I stay in such a place. I am by no means a hotel snob and have stayed in plenty of places that have been older but I do at the very least expect them to be clean.

okay hotel for the price

Posted Jul 27, 2014
Pros: the price
Cons: a bit cleaner and friendlier staff
The hotel was nice. the bed was comfortable. the only thing was the hallway smelled like smoke. the hotel allowed dogs which is nice but it was close to our room and we heard the barking. Also we heard someone walking back and forth above us which woke us up early. I wouldn't blame this on the hotel. we stay at a lot of hotels and this one was okay. The staff could have been a little nicer and the hallways could have been cleaned to get the smell out. it was a good price for a Friday night in the tourist season in Plymouth.

Bed was comfortable, shower was hot.

Pros: Close to where we needed to be.
Cons: Coffee pot in room would be nice. Major repairs everywhere around the hotel is a must.
Location: Close to Plymouth water front.
Morning coffee in lobby was ready and hot. This location was close to where I needed to be for the weekend.

Convenient hotel for us to reach

Posted May 12, 2014
Pros: Includes pets. Pool.
Cons: Could be a bit cleaner.
Location: Beaches, but for us the distance to our horse show in Marshfield.
We very overall pleased with our stay. Just finding the room proved to be very complicated - even the lady from the front desk had a bit of a time to do so. The room/suite was clean enough and comfy. A floor map with clear directions would help.

A good deal.

It's an old Howard Johnson hotel right off the highway. The rates were perfect. The room was nice. The decor is still in the 60's. Some small condition issues but not too bad. It wasn't a dump by any means. A good deal.

Average hotel. Nothing special.

Pros: Accessibility to highway, beach and attractions.
Cons: Cleanliness.
Location: Historic Plymouth; the waterfront, museums.
We did like the size of the rooms for the price. The kids loved the pool. Overall, a good value. Would stay at again. Nothing amazing. Just good.
