Gritty little motel trying to pass as a hotel

The breakfast was about three days old, beds smelled like dust and the carpet in the room smelled like wet socks.

Cons: An older place with older furnishings.
Location: Kingston NY is close to Woodstock, Hunter Mountain, Rhinecliff and only 90 miles from NYC
Nice location with a view, with a pool. Unfortunately the pool was closed.

One of the worst hotels I've ever stayed in

Advertizes that they have a pool as well as a restaurant...Neither one was open Rug in room was filthy and the shower curtain was disgusting. If I could have checked out I would have. Other hotels in area are better.

Place needs some major renovations! The room was somewhat clean & everything worked in it. The bathroom looked like it was renovated, but like they forgot to redo the bath tub. I wore flip flops in the shower. The water smelled like rotten eggs. Beds were firm & very comfortable. The pool was green & I couldn't swim, the steak house restruant is close & out of business - so the amenities are false advertisement. The main office smells like mold, but my room did not. The pros- confortable bed, air conditioner worked great, cable TV & free wifi. If you're just looking for a place to sleep that's cheap I recommend this place- just don't expect it to be a 5 star resort or you'll be terribly disappointment.

Bad odors, foul hot water

Pros: The desk clerk said he was giving me a room away from other parties, so it would be quiet, and indeed it was.
My room had a strong musty odor, unlike any other hotel room I have stayed in. When I turned on the hot water faucet in the bathroom sink, an explosion of air followed by several seconds of almost black water resulted. I ran the hot water for several minutes, but it retained an odor so I did not feel comfortable taking a shower. There was a dead roach on the bathroom floor, but otherwise the room appeared to have been cleaned.

Not Really Open!

This hotel does not really appear open. Despite it being 86 degrees out, the pool was not open (yet the pool was advertised when I booked the hotel), nor was the restaurant. Whole sections of the hotel did not appear open, and facilities were limited.

Great Location but Bring Your Own Water

Pros: Local to where I grew up.
Cons: Provide water or fix the water problem.
Nice, friendly people working there; probably family owned. The sink, and shower water had an overwhelming sulfur smell which can be a sign of a anaerobic bacteria laden water tank, fouled water lines or sulfurous aquifer. For any of those reasons, drinking it, brushing your teeth and showering was quite unpleasant.
