Nice hotel, nice atmosphere

Posted Oct 30, 2013 on Hotels.com
A little run down but it only adds to the atmosphere. Really nice, creaky hotel. Relaxed, quiet and romantic. Upgraded to delux room, but bed was only a double, would have liked something bigger. Other than that, thoroughly enjoyed my stay.

Excellent experience!

After seeing a review of this hotel ten years ago, I finally fulfilled my dream of staying at the castle. I was not disappointed. The hotel was beautiful and unique. Our attic room (D'arcy) was just as I'd expect from a centuries old building with period furniture, radiant heating and a view of the horses grazing in a meadow. The views from our walk through the forest, brambles and stables was lovely. All the staff were friendly and accommodating. If you have the opportunity don't miss this experience!

Great castle experience

A wonderful overnight stay in a real castle...as comfortable as an old building could be . Delicious dinner and fabulous breakfast. They use the castle a lot for private parties and one was going on during our stay. We couldn't avoid their noise but it was all part of the atmosphere.

castle 10 wifi 2

Posted Jun 30, 2013
Pros: chandelier in our bathroom
Cons: wifi was basically non-existant it's a castle that's what I expected
Location: close to at least 2 distilleries if you want to take the tours
It's a castle! Leave your computer in your room the wifi is dreadful. Go do castle stuff

6 Stars! The best part of our vacation!

Posted Nov 17, 2012 on Hotels.com
What a wonderful place! This was definately the best part of our vacation. The Castle is beatiful! The staff was friendly and very helpful, especially Ciara. She always had a smile on her face which lit up the room. Ciara helped make our vacation memoriable. Our room was huge and decorated with beautiful furnishings. We enjoyed our walks and being able to see the castle, not just our room, which was in fact 2 rooms. Our bathroom was larger than our living room at home. The food was great as well. The staff in the bar even put the NFL game on TV so we were able to watch a game going on that Sunday afternoon in the US. Of the 5 places that we stayed while in Ireland, the Kinnitty Castle was the best! I only wish we could have stayed there longer, hated to leave. If you are going to Ireland this is the place to stay at least 1 night, we stayed 2. It is definately a castle, very clean, great food, and the staff went way above what we would have expected. If/when we go back to Ireland we plan on going back. This was the best part of the 8 day trip!!!!
