Great hotel for a familyPosted Dec 30, 2012
Pros: Great steak restaurant and wonderful staff.
Cons: It would have been great to have a hot tub on property for the guests.
Location: Kirchburg is a really pretty town that is quite a pleasant alternative to the very touristy Kitzbuhel. The restaurants in town were very good.
This was our first visit to the Kitzbuhel ski area and we very pleasantly surprised by our stay at the Almohof Hotel. It's definitely a boutique hotel and if you are expecting all the bells and whistles of a 5 star hotel, this is not for you. However, if you are expecting a very personal experience where the owner knows your name and your likes and dislikes, this is your place. The owner, Marcel, is an incredibly accommodating host that take a very hands-on approach with his BnB. The rooms are very clean and simple but very comfortable. We visited during the Christmas season and the whole atmosphere was fantastic. The breakfast buffet was very nice and they even made orders (eggs) on request. The steak restaurant (Asado's) was fantastic and offered an amazing selection of wines. Although they don't have a hot tub/pool, they have an agreement with a sister property across the street to use their very nice facilities for a nominal fee. If you have a car, the slope is literally five minutes away and if you don't, there is a shuttle that stops right in front of the property. Parking was never a problem as there is an adjacent lot right next to the hotel. Although they were having some problems with the wi-fi internet when we were there, this was resolved and it was quite easy to connect for a minimal fee for the week. Overall, our stay was excellent and we would recommend this for a family or group of friends.

We rally enjoyed our stay here, even though we were here in the fall we will come back for the winter and stay here for a ski trip!

Nice PlacePosted Sep 11, 2012
We had a huge apartment with kitchen and balcony facing the mountains. Clean and comfortable with a quiet bar/restaurant downstairs. Very helpful owner brought us breakfast at 5am as we had to leave early.

Good stopover hotelPosted Jun 19, 2012
Location: Close to Kirchberg and Kitsbuhel
Some way out of town but a good value place to stay a night or two during a tour of the wonderful Austrian Alps. Unfortunately the Steak restaurant at the hotel was not open but we had a good dinner, and breakfast the following morning, at their sister hotel across the road.

Hotel Almhof, dated but huge roomPosted Apr 2, 2012 on Hotels.com
Great location next to slopes at Kitzbuhel. Very large room (living room with sofa bed and bedroom), but everything was worn and dated. Value for the price was excellent for Europe.

Almhof Hotel - Kirchberg AustriaPosted Feb 27, 2012 on Hotels.com
The hotel was very basic and the walk from the carpark to the main entrance was a death trap covered in snow and ice, getting dow to the ski room was even worse, the steps leading down had not been cleared of snow and ice. The rooms were very basic and it looked like a child had made the beds! I would not recommend this hotel at all, there are much nicer places in the town to choose from.

Worth it.Posted Jun 28, 2010 on Hotels.com
Was fairly difficult to get to by public transport, but eventually we made it and were very happy with the accomodations provided. Worth the stay.
