As with all Scandic hotels we have used in Norway, the breakfast buffet is tremendous. An amazing variety of foods all fresh and well presented with excellent coffee and espresso options.

Happily Surprised
From the outside & lobby I wasn’t sure what the rooms would be like but they were happily quite sizable, clean and comfortable, and the bathroom had a full tub and shower. The breakfast was fresh and hearty. The view was quite serene..,pleasant.

The breakfast was the best I have ever had at a hotel. They let us park our bikes in a safe location and there was also a laundry facility open and a nice sauna. The double room is 2 twin beds pushed together.

Budget friendly arctic hotel
Only 2 small issues: no electrical plugs within reach of the bed for charging phones etc. table between chairs in seating area very flimsy. Fold up metal card table style. Fell over and made a racket late at night with minimal effort.

I would rate this as a 3 star hotel. The rooms need to be remodeled and it could be cleaner. Great location for wandering around downtown. Walking distance to the WW2 bomb shelter. Easy walk down to the water where there are less lights and its easier to see the Northern Lights with less lights.

Hotel is conveniently located right in the heart of town. While farther from the coast and ship lines than other options, I like the area's walkability and easy access to exploring the town. Staff was friendly.

Lovely staff, rooms clean and comfortable. Location excellent. Approx 20 min walk to Hurtigruten terminal. Hotel restaurant offers a good menu at reasonable prices

Stayed one night at the Scandinavian in Kirkenes while waiting to get on the Hurtigruten the next day. Hotel is fine for a place to stay, it was clean and provided for the basic essentials. Missing things like wash clothes and tissue in the bathroom. Rooms are incredibly warm and could not find a way to adjust the heat; had the window open all night and it was still warm. Most of the staff were friendly and helpful, except for one women when checking in who wasn’t, but maybe she was having a bad day.

Cosy hotel in Kirkenes
Staff helpful and friendly. Room warm it was -13 outside. Excellent breakfast. Buffet style. Great selection of breads, cereals, hot and cold food. Service very friendly. Resturant clean and food refilled quickly. Free parking in the street next to the hotel. Hotel has a lift. Great location near Dock if you are going on a cruise of the Fjords.

Generally happy with our stay, but we where truly disappointed over the breakfast. Everything was quite soggy and tasted little to nothing… Not the hotel breakfast we was expecting

This is a basic hotel. The decor and fittings need upgrading. They do not have any other bed configuration but twin beds.

Friendly staffs, fast check in and check out. Good location as it is located at the center of the town. The hotel has few kick sled where guests can borrow them for one hour free which you can use them to explore the town during winter season. Clean room with comfortable bed. Fantabulous breakfast!!

Got in late evening, bus waiting at airport to town. Easy check-in, and bus to Hurtigruten ferry stops right by airport. Easy transfer.
