Honeymoon Stay

Cons: Learn better customer service.
Location: Lake Washington
We sent our kids to The Woodmark for their honeymoon. The hotel accommodations and SPA were great. The staff however, screwed up on processing my credit card as it was our gift to the kids and called them 4 times in their room on their honeymoon night demanding payment. They had my credit information and phone number on file and did not call me, but bothered the Bride & Groom instead- relentlessly. After I emailed the credit card authorization form to them 2 times THAT NIGHT, they had my daughter come down to their office and print out on her cell phone a copy of the form because they were having computer issues. They should not have had to spend their honeymoon night trying to correct a problem made by the hotel. They could have waited unti lthe next morning to figure out their computer issues. They did not even give them a complementary breakfast or bottle of wine for all the time wasted. I am very upset needless to say.

Loved the Woodmark

Pros: The staff was amazing and extremely accommodating. Probably had the best cappuccino I've ever had at their Beach Cafe. Will definitely be going back.
Location: Wonderful restaurants, downtown Kirkland is a nice walk away.
Went for a de-stressing weekend, which is exactly what I got. The atmosphere is wonderful, the grounds are gorgeous, and if you go definitely ask the desk to schedule a boat ride with Rob on the Woodmark's Chris Craft. I can't wait to go back.

beautiful area

Pros: the location and the cost and connivence of their on grounds restaurant.
Cons: comfort of their bed, steam cleaning their carpets not only in their rooms but hallways, decreasing their displays of items for sale.
Location: guided tours of tall ships, kayaks, beautiful lake, etc. Starbucks is right around the conner and so is a small post office.
on the surface the hotel was very beautiful. look a little deeper and you will notice the rugs need cleaning and little details need to be looked at a little better. i really didn't like having so many items being offered for an extra charge, for instance you walk into your room and theres a beautiful display of snacks, make your own drink, or access the mini bar for an extra charge. turn on the t.v. and you can purchase channels. the parking is charged, along with some extra fee for services you may not use. bath robes, lotion, soap, shampoo, etc is all displayed with a little note on how to purchase - it just felt a little tacky and "nickeled and dimed". staff was great, food was great, and the room was clean. there was an issue with the beds being very hot, possibly due to a protective mattress cover? the mini bar fridge was very loud and leaked water on to the carpeted floor. there was a wedding that occurred one night that continued loudly past 11pm and then guests continued to celebrate in their rooms well past 3am with no response from the hotel. little disappointments like that did not ruin our experience but did leave a bitter taste in our mouths.

Great Hotel, Lousy Downstairs Restaurant!!

Pros: The hotel is very nice and the staff is really great!!! Great service that you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Cons: Remove the lying stone faced manager in the downstairs restaurant, fire the chef who serves really burnt food at a 4 star restaurant!!!
Location: The restaurants in downtown Kirkland just a few minutes away are very nice with a great selection of different kinds of foods.
The hotel and staff were very nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. BUT!!! I will say to AVOID the restaurant down stairs at all costs!!!!! One of my friends who met us there had Gastric Bypass Surgery, so her stomach is the size of a walnut. My wife is a petite lady (Size 0) can't eat that much. So both ordered the Children's Combo Breakfast with a side. My wife ordered this a few days before with no problems, then our different waitress said that as adults they don't do that. We told her that we did it a few day prior and didn't have any problems. They bring the breakfast to us, both two adult and two children's with side orders. After we finished the meal with no prior warning the waitress told us that they were going to charge us full Adult price for the two children's breakfast!!! Are you kidding me?? I asked to see the Manager, a stone faced lady who was very rude and treated us like we were trailer trash trying to get away with ripping off the restaurant!! She bold faces lied to us telling us the portion size was larger then the children's meal. It was no larger then the previous children's meal!! So we paid Adult prices for half portions to this unscrupulous stone faced Manager. Adding insult to injury my English Muffins were burnt black on top, they tried to hide this fact by covering them up with hollandaise sauce. This is not the kind of food or service I am accustom to from a 4 star hotel!!!!!!!!! There are many great restaurants downtown to go to!!!

This is a great hotel at a great location. We were a little disappointed that Expedia had Wifi included but we had to pay for it extra. (For a 300 $ a night, we didn't think we should pay extra for Wifi). Otherwise it's a great place with very friendly staff.

Vacation in Seattle

Pros: Location -- proximity to lake and to town with restaurants and shopping. Spa availability, and restaurants in and adjacent to hotel.
Cons: Additional attention to details (room not serviced twice during 8 day stay), and more communication about amenities -- raid the pantry and champagne.
Facility was very nice overall. Nice view of the lake even though the room actually looked out upon a courtyard. Beautiful setting. East side of Seattle is a very good base -- out of the hustle of the city, serene setting, outdoor activities available, and proximity to Kirkwood with good restaurants and shopping.

Woodmark Stay

I recently stayed at The Woodmark with my family and we thoroughly enjoyed our few days there. It is right on the water, walking distance to the beach and downtown Kirkland. Very clean, supper friendly staff and killer location. The only negative came from using the gym facilities. My oldest son and were working out and when we left we apparently forgot to put a ball and yoga mat away. The trainer from the adjacent facility ( personal training ) came running out and made a big public stink about us not putting away equipment ( she shouted it across a courtyard in front of about 20 people having breakfast). Honest mistake on my part with the Mat but she said we didn't put away a rope and dumb bells. After walking back and asking to see what she was talking about she started saying " I guess it was someone before you". Pretty unprofessional. I guess she only wants to talk nicely to her regular clients from Clyde Hill or Kirkland and saw us as tourists ( I was an executive for T-Mobile for 10 yrs and was returning to the area for a family visit). I would definitely return to stay at the Woodmark and chalk up the gym experience to someone who was frustrated in life about something other then me forgetting to roll up a mat.

Cons: Pantry should offer ice cream sandwiches.
The staff was amazing and friendly. Great job in hiring people with awesome customer service. Lake view was beautiful. Definitely would stay again. Pantry idea was great. Hotel shuttle was helpful.
