“Just okay I guess”

Room has a bit of a bad smell, not fresh. However it's tolerable. Nice that it has a fitness center and pool that's open year round.

“If there was no where else to stay or you get a good deal”

We stayed there for 3 days. The the hotel was better presented than what we were expecting. The hotel is a little further out than the others on Hespeler Rd but not enough to make us not stay there again. The rooms were comfortable and the beds, bedding and pillows were better than most hotels at this price. However the rooms are a little worn. There had to be no less than 3 large holes in the walls which were just wallpapered over and with time these are now once again holely walls. The rooms were not at all dark and dingy as one of the other reviewers mentioned. Obviously the black out curtains make it dark but all one has to do is open them. The bathrooms were just OK and are in much need of a makeover. We also stayed at the Crowne Plaza in Hamilton and as much as it was very modern and nice the bathroom was almost exactly the same size as this one which some people have complained about... and we paid twice the amount as this hotel. The water pressure was great! The shower curtain was a liitle worse for wear.The television and remote was old and could be updated. Our room was situated way around back which made for a good walk if you wanted something from the front desk, however we were told we could park our vehicle around back were there was an secure access door which we could obtain access through with our room entry card. That was nice. Over all an average hotel with some wear and tear, but they seem to be trying.

“Needs updating and renovations”

First of all the customer service is great, all the staff were very accomodating. However, the hotel is in dire need of renovations, especially the tiny bathrooms with rusty fixtures. We checked in very late and were first given a room with a poorly maintained bathroom with cracked and yellowed toilet seat and scuff marks on the walls. Upon complaining the next morning, the front desk staff was very accomodating and gave us another room with a king better and much better bathroom. However, I have stayed in 2 star hotels that looked better than this 3 star. Oh, and the bath tubs are not jetted as noted in the Expedia description.

“Just ok.”

Nice hotel for what we paid. We were put in the back section which was quite a bit more run down than the rest of the hotel. Very hot but were able to open the balcony door to cool down the room. Heat would not turn down.

“Needs Serious Rennovation”

As non-smokers, we were repulsed at being met in the lobby by the smell of smoke which seems to be embedded in the carpet and walls throughout the hotel (even the "non-smoking" section). Thankfully, once inside our room, we were spared from inhaling the second-hand stench. After being out all day (after our first night), we returned to find that the housekeeping service decided that they would take it light and only take up the dirty towels that had been left on the floor; the bed hadn't been made, neither of the trash cans had been emptied, and the used towels had not been replaced. Not to mention the counters, sinks, floors, toilet and bathtub! I know this isn't a 5-star establishment and didn't have unreasonably high expectations but thought this "oversight" was ridiculous so I called the front desk to inquire about the standard cleaning procedures. The pleasant voice on the other end apologized profusely and offered us two complimentary hot breakfast vouchers for the inconvenience. Overall, the beds were uncomfortably stiff, housekeeping was less than stellar, and the rooms could really use a makeover. The only thing that this hotel has going for it is its friendly staff and plush restaurant. We will not be staying here again and will definitely not recommend it to others despite the courteous employees - I am sure that there is an abundance of lovely staff at nicer establishments in Cambridge.
