Not Quite Spot On

Posted Jul 7, 2013
Pros: Restaurant staff were very friendly and accommodating, and the food was excellent.
Cons: It's somewhat tired, and could use some refreshing - particularly a fan in the bathroom.
Confusing encounter with housekeeping staff! Far too early - she asked if we needed towels, and we said no. We were still getting ready for the day at that point. When we came back in the evening, the dirty dishes, glasses, etc. from our evening before were still there, and the beds hadn't been made. Essentially, the room had not been done. We were a little disappointed, frankly. The restaurant was excellent, but they closed the breakfast buffet early as a large group had been in and they didn't want to refill everything, so we missed out on that as well. There was no fan in the bathroom, so it stayed quite damp and was generally unpleasant. Staff were super - very friendly and pleasant, but the facility is looking a bit worn and tired in general.

Pros: None
Cons: See Hotel Experiece Above
Location: Hiway accessible
Cheapest room in the hotel (maybe from booking through Expedia) Hiway noise was annoying Room was dirty - cobwebs on the ceiling Rust around drain in wash basin was disgusting Mattress was worn out. Pillows also. Security entrance to 100 and 200 rooms level was unlocked at 7.20 p.m. Overall, not what I expected from the Holiday Inn name

Room was clean and comfortable, however the exhaust fan in the bathroom did not work and after a shower the entire bathroom and everything inside (including clothes) was dripping wet. Also on the first floor all the plumbing fixtures (toilet flushing, shower and sink running water) could be heard very loud from the second floor room above us. Not the nicest thing to wake up to.

Comfortable bed, decent food, and having a hot tub and pool on site was relaxing. No in room safe, no stocked bar fridge but overall very pleasant and we felt quite relaxed. Excellent location and lots of safe parking. We only spoke with 2 front staff. Upon arrival, our check in was easy and the staff knew what they were doing. Upon check out, there was a change of staff who were somewhat incompetent but did take care of things.

Had to get a room change. There is no elevator in the section we were first assigned. My Wife is unable to negotiate stairs due to health, but re-location was, thankfully, easy. I should remember next time to mention this, so I take full responsibility. Location was very convenient to where we needed to be, though, so that was a real plus. As well, to get to the Hotel from the main Hwy was a breeze. BH

While the hotel lobby and room are very clean, the pool area, especially the sauna and change rooms are old, and completely unsanitary.
