Nice hotel. We were in town for a wedding, this hotel was the most affordable. Our only gripe was that you could hear everything going on in the hallway due to the thin walls. Other than that the place had friendly, excellent staff that allowed us to check in early. We would stay here again

Last Minute Reservation

Posted Nov 15, 2014
Pros: The lobby had a gas fireplace and a comfy seating area. The bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Bathroom ceiling fan vent fixed.
Location: Location is bright and I felt safe travelling alone.
At the last minute I decided to stay after a visit with my daughter and son in law. The room was clean and comfy except for the ceiling vent and light cover missing, after which I turned on and it sent dust all over....(need to mention to hotel staff). The lobby is inviting and breakfast, which was included, was very nice.

Love the little town of Poulsbo and the shops

Posted Nov 5, 2014
Pros: The location was good
We were looking for a one-night economical stay. The price was right. Location is great for grocery stores, fast food, and other miscellaneous shopping. It was just a short distance to drive to the specialty shops. Our attendant was very nice and friendly and homemade cookies awaited us. We had a queen size bed, but it seemed smaller. Room was small but clean. We would stay here again.

Quaint hotel

Posted Oct 14, 2014
Pros: The breakfast served featured my typical choice of yogurt, cereals, and muffins. I was surprised with the wonderful addition of warm cinnamon rolls!
Cons: I requested a non smoking room and while my room was smoke free, I could definitely smell cigarette smoke in the hallways.
Location: Great view of the pines. It was accessible to major highways.
The staff was friendly and the room was clean. It was a double room and was intended for no more than two people.

Comfortable accommodations close to town & waterfr

We liked the decor of the room and it felt like a guest room within a home. Colour Painted walls and window treatment to match. Very clean! The extra long double bed was unusual but cozy.

Everything was good at the Guest House...free breakfast daily..hotel was clean, rooms quiet, staff very friendly, only problem the fitness center is not on site...only about 2 block walk away...but it was closed for maintenance...not hotels fault though. Car needed to enjoy surrounding area, but an easy walk to the quaint downtown village of Poulsbo

Won't book through travel sites ever again

Posted Aug 29, 2014 on Hotels.com
We booked a smoking room only because that was all that they had available. However, the room stunk of cigarettes so bad, no amount of febreeze or scented candles could cover it up. Plus the carpet was covered in cigarette burns. Anyway, we asked for another room and they couldn't promise us anything. We called around to other hotels and found another place that had a non-smoking room available. We asked if we could cancel the following nights reservation with 24 hour notice. The hotel told us no, we could not cancel the room at all because we booked it through a travel website. Had I booked with the hotel directly, it would've been no problem to cancel the second night. So we were stuck in a horrible room for 2 nights. I know it was a bad idea to book a smoking room in the first place, but to be told you can't cancel because you booked through a travel site was just annoying. First and last time I've booked with any travel site.

4.5 stay

This used to be a Holiday Express. The building is older but everything is very clean and well maintained. It is up to date and nicely decorated. There is no elevator so if you have the second floor you haul the bags up, which will be an excellent incentive for packing light. The bed was very comfortable with a mix of firm and soft pillows. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was in a very nice area and was the usual mix of hot/ cold cereals, scrambled eggs and bacon, yogurts, toasts/ bagels, cinnamon rolls with coffee and tea. The only thing I really was not satisfied with was the extremely slow wi-fi.
